Change Of Career: From A Frustrating Parish Pastor Career To A Fulfilling Chaplain Career

• I presently serve in the healthcare field as a Board Certified Chaplain, working as a hospice chaplain in San Diego, CA for LightBridge Hospice, serving as Director of Spiritual Care.
• Before choosing a chaplain career, I served as a parish pastor for 30 years.
• Listening to solid career change advice, my "career change journey" included chaplain certification training in a hospital setting at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. I concluded my chaplain training at Polinsky Children's Center, the County of San Diego residential campus for abused and molested children.
• The most unique and fulfilling ministry assignment I had was as a Faith Coordinator for the County of San Diego, a serving as a liaison between the faith community and government.
