RV generators allow you to have the comforts of home while away from home. Taking a trip in the family RV is one of the most exciting things that you can do as a family. Having the comforts of home in a motorized vehicle can be breath taking. But what about the luxuries of home? For many of us,these are the things that keep us going. With the use of the RV generator it is now possible to enjoy the same luxuries at home while away from home.

Most of todays RV's have a place that is located behind the drivers seat that is designated for the RV generator. This generator can provide power through out the RV. You can even run these generators while moving down the road. They are powered by the engines fuel supply. Once the fuel tank reaches a certain level, then the generator will automatically shut off.

These RV generators do not come installed in every RV however. They are only installed on the larger models. For the smaller RV's, you will need a generator that is specifically designed for the RV. The average RVs have 30 or 50 amp electrical system installed in them. For an RV with a 30 amp electrical system, a 4 kw generator will be enough.

However if you have a 50 amp electrical system then a generator that can provide 6500 watts of power must be used. When it comes to shopping for these RV generators, you can find them in various sizes and capacities. Prices also vary according to the capacity of the generator. The larger sizes can produce between 5500 to 12500 watts of power. These are the most expensive generators. They provide enough power to run multiple air conditioners with some power left over for other things. They are powered by diesel fuel.

Gasoline or LP powered generators are available in 5000 to 7000 watts and there also gasoline and LP generators that range from 2500 to 4000 watts. You want to make sure that when shopping for one of these RV generators that you get the right one for your RV.

If you are planning a vacation or trip that requires the use of your RV, then make sure that you have the right generator to help make you feel right at home. Your friends and family will thank you for it. For more information about these generators try contacting your local RV dealer or do a search on the Internet.
