I recently joined a travel club called [GRN] (you can check it out at http://www.travelfordiscount.com) If you take one vacation per year and spend at least $3,000, this travel club will be of interest to you. If you can't afford to spend $3,000 per year, but spend $3,000 over a period of years, this travel club is for you.
I have owned several timeshares throughout my life. I still own one now. After I came across GRN, I watched their movie and watched it again. I couldn't believe that you could actually travel for $298 per week when using what they call their hot weeks. The most they charge to go to three, four and five star resorts, even for families of up to four when the accommodations are available is $698 per week! That's a bargain.
With a timeshare there is often a huge up front payout. With GRN there is a small in comparison payout, but after that, the most you will pay for a week vacation (airfare not included) is $698. If you can be even more flexible, there are hundreds of vacations offered daily at $298 for seven nights and eight days! No maintenance fees or long term contracts. Just pure travel as many times a year as you like if you choose the $3000. membership.
In addiition, I was attracted to GRN because I had been to several of the resorts they were offering! I paid triple the amount or more to stay at some of them. I was impressed with the quality of the resorts they were offering and the fact that you could look just about every one of them up on tripadvisor.com which asks travelers to rate their own vacations. It's a great source of information for anyone who wants to see photos and read reviews of the places you want to travel to.
GRN also offers something really amazing. Not only can you join as a member and get huge vacation discounts, but you can sign up as what is called an affiliate. What this means is, if you sign up as an affiliate and you recommend this travel club to others, after a second person signs up you can make $1000 if they join at the $3,000 level. Make 3 recommendations who sign up and you've made back your $3,000 plus you are able to use the membership for a lifetime and then pass it on to your family!
GRN, also known as Global Resorts Network has been around for over 20 years. They have a great customer service reputation and are known for offering some of the best disounts on the planet.
But vacation clubs aren't for everyone. You must understand how they work to be truly satisfied. The people who cry scam all the time are the people who don't read carefully or don't know what they are getting into up front.
You must be flexible, although with some of the GRN resorts you can book a year in advance. Flexibility means being open to last minute travel whether it be a week from now or several months from now. It means trying a new or different resort then you might have originally planned for a vacation, but if you try one of the recommended hot weeks you will be able to travel for a whole week for $298 for that week! If the accommodations are for four then all four travel for the one price. If the accommodations are for two but you have four traveling, you can give your guests a guest pass. These are unlimited for lifetime members.
