Baseball Steroid Use-Mitchell Report is Out

Former Senator George Mitchell came out with an independent report on steroid use in baseball. The report is shocking and eye opening. The report is well done and very detailed.

I applaud Mr. Mitchell for conducting this report. It was long overdue. It's a 409 page report and you will not get board reading it. So many names were dropped. Your favorite player might be in this report.

Shame on the professional baseball players who abused enhanced performance drugs. What now? Do you fine them? Do you kick them out of baseball? Here's a thought; A) Take away any records they may have broken while in baseball even if they were not on substance abuse at the time. B) Take down all baseball marketing material in their name.

What do you tell your children who looked up to these sports heroes? How do you tell them that drugs are bad when legitimate (or so we thought) baseball players use them themselves? It's a difficult thing and maybe these player should all get in front of a mic and explain themselves. However you can't put all the blame on them. Where was the baseball commissioner during this whole thing? Where were the presidents of each league? Why were they not more strict on making sure their players were clean?

Baseball got a black eye today. What happens now so baseball won't get beat up? I for one will not attend anymore baseball games if there is not more enforcement on this issue. Who wants to see a bunch of drug users playing baseball? Obviously there are a lot of questions and we'll see what's next with baseball.
