There are all kinds of different retractable screens doors that can be fitted in one's cottage or home. These include retractable screen doors for porches, patio doors, garage doors, balconies and even French doors.
Retractable screen doors need to not be too cheap or they could wear out quite quickly. This is because it is an item you will be using every day several times a day. Some are more durable than others and some just have nicer scrollwork or fixtures. You might also consider looking at its ease of use for children and the elderly particularly when it comes to sliding the screen insert up and down. The screen itself should also be strong enough so that eager thieves or enthusiastic pets trying to get outside cannot poke it out.
Retractable screen doors also come in all kinds of metallic colors but the most standard color is white. It used to be aluminum but these silver retractable doors are now becoming rare. White is available for just about every style of screen door including retractable porch doors, cottage doors and boathouse doors.
The height of elegance when it comes to retractable screen doors is the ones made out of stained natural wood. You can also find them painted in pink, red, peach, green and blue. These types of doors have delicate carvings or scrollwork. The handles and screen cutouts on these doors are also often nicer than you find on the standard aluminum door you find in a hardware store
You can usually install retractable screen doors yourself in less than a half an hour but if you are not the handy then get a professional to do it. The biggest challenge is to get the door to hang flush with the doorframe, as the foundations of many houses are crooked.
