Your mind is the key to all that you are and all that you can accomplish. It picks up everything you expose it to. How you process that information will determine the kind of life you will live.
Will you allow input into your mind that will result in positive thoughts and emotions? Or, will you expose it to negative input that will cause you to think in terms of what is impossible rather than what is possible?
Let’s look into how your thinking affects your life…
Understand that your mind is the most powerful asset you have. More specifically, it is the subconscious part of you that plays a major impact on how you think and define your reality. In the “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind”, Dr. Joseph Murphy says, “You can bring into your life more power, more wealth, more health, more happiness, and more joy by learning to contact and release the hidden power of your subconscious mind. You need not acquire this power: you already possess it. But, you want to learn how to use it; you want to understand it so that you can apply it in all departments of your life.”
Because of this power, it’s extremely important that you watch carefully what you allow your brain to be influenced by. For example, how much do you expose it to the greatest propaganda machine of our time, the Television Set? Do you blindly allow these images in without questioning the real motives behind them? Do you question who profits if you blindly follow the ideas being placed in your mind by this little box?
Consider this quote from a Soviet correspondent based for five years in the U.S.:
"I have the greatest admiration for your propaganda. Propaganda in the West is carried out by experts who have had the best training in the world — in the field of advertising — and have mastered the techniques with exceptional proficiency ... Yours are subtle and persuasive; ours are crude and obvious ... I think that the fundamental difference between our worlds, with respect to propaganda, is quite simple. You tend to believe yours ... and we tend to disbelieve ours."
Pretty scary to consider our minds are assaulted by this type of input on a daily basis. In America, most people watch upward of 5-10 hours a day of this type of input. One third of their lives! Imagine the difference if more people read books instead. Or searched for alternative outlets that reported ideas against the mainstream.
However, here is the good news. Again, a quote from Dr. Joseph Murphy, “Within your subconscious depths lie infinite wisdom, infinite power, and infinite supply of all that is necessary, which is waiting for development and expression… The infinite intelligence within your subconscious mind can reveal to you everything you need to know at every moment of time and point of space provided you are open-minded and receptive.”
Use your God-given "filter" to see the truth in all input to your brain. Here is the key to uncovering the truth in any situation: Question everything. Question the propaganda comments I’ve made in this post. Will you dismiss them simply because it may be new to you, or will you question them, reflect on them, and then investigate them? Question what that commercial telling you that you have a disorder that didn’t exist 10 years ago is really all about. Question what the mainstream media tells you is happening on the other side of the planet. Question what your leaders say. Question what your friends say.
It is this questioning that will lead you to think, rather than blindly accept. Use your mind to discover truth. Remember, the truth will set you free. Train your mind to see through the lies, deception and half-truths it will encounter on a daily basis. Your quality of life depends on it.
