Now we are at step 4 for getting hair extensions. This step involves two important tasks- finding a qualified hair stylist and salon to get your hair extensions and preparing for the consultation. If you have not gone through steps 1-3, please go back and read them now. Skipping steps will not help you in the long run. Step 4.....

Step 4A of 6 for getting hair extensions

Step 4 involves two separate tasks. One is to find a hair extension stylist in your area, and the other is to prepare for the consultation. The two parts are broken into step 4A and step 4B.

Step 4A is to find a salon and certified stylist in your area that provides hair extension services. You should have a list of different hair extension methods that you like from step 3. Use this list to start looking for a stylist.

There are several methods to find a hair extension stylist. We will list just a few of them.

1. Contact the hair extension company directly and ask if they have a hair stylist in your area that offers hair extension services. This is a great way to start, because the company is not going to recommend anyone who has not been trained and/or certified to do their method.

There are many stylists out there claiming to do a particular method of hair extensions when in fact they have not been trained or certified by that company to do extensions. By contacting the hair extension companies directly you will also be saving a step later to verify that they are certified and trained to attach hair extensions.

2. Search online. Type into a search engine, like Google or Yahoo, 'hair extensions' in 'your town'. Hair extensions are a premium service that many salons and stylists offer. Chances are very good that if a salon/stylist offers hair extension services, they will have a website with pertinent details.

3. Contact Hair Resources Global Salon Directory. Send an Email to Editor@hairresources.com with your zip code and hair extension method you are looking for. Our global salon directory has over 650 salons and there is a good chance that we already have a salon listed in your area. If not, we will find one for you, at no charge. We have located hair extension salons all over the world for people.

4. Call the beauty salons in your area and ask if they offer hair extension services, or if they know of any salon in the area that does. A beauty salon is a great place to get recommendations since they most likely will not refer anyone who doesn't do a good job.

After your find a salon in your area, you should call and schedule a consultation. Some stylists will charge a small fee for this consultations, while others offer it for free. It is always a good idea to visit several beauty salons so that you can compare costs and services. Even if you have to spend up to $100 for all the consultations, it is money well spent.

Stay tuned for Part B of Step 4, Preparing for your consulation.
