As explosive as her new album "Touch My Body," Mariah Carey was also triumphant in her weight loss regimen from a size 8 to a size 2. It is reported that Carey shed 20 pounds over eight months. She is now sporting a new slim body shown on her youthful teenage body on the cover of her new album.
Mariah Carey, the 38-year-old five-time Grammy winner and who has just gotten married to her soul mate Nick Cannon, credits her transformation to her 1,000 to 1,500 calories-per-day regimen. Mariah was quoted as saying in an interview : " I used to wake up and say, 'What do I want to eat?' But now, rather than just order any old thing that tastes good, I will sit down and say, 'What works for me that is going to keep me at the size that I am going to feel better about myself?"
Mariah Carey is serious about her workouts, Patricia Gay was quoted , her personal trainer for the past eight years. Carey would invite friends, hit the pool with her and do aqua aerobics. Patricia gave an outline of Mariah's water workout. For a 20-minute warmup, they aqua jog, do dolphin kicks and breastrokes. Then the singer would do 30 minutes of full body exercises in the water, pushing the water with her arms and legs, and doing mermaid moves for her abs and lower body.
What's her diet? Carey's diet is a far break from her favorite macaroni and cheese. Breakfast would be a six-ounce non-fat pain yugort, with one cup sliced pineapple, one small banana. Lunch would be grilled chicken (170 grams) seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon and parsley with a cup of spinach and a cup of grilled squash and zucchini. Dinner is a cup of rice seasoned with low-sodium soy sauce and two cups of mixed vegetables cooked in one tablespoon of olive oil. She also takes a lot of water up to three liters a day, and is committed to exercise.
"It's about discipline and I have lots of discipline," Mariah Carey declared.
