I frequently color my own hair. Usually I choose some boring shade of brown or light brown. Of course the first time that I did it, I was a little nervous. Always concerned about ending up with some strange color.
The drugstore has quite a selection of hair color products. There are now 10 minute hair color kits. The prices vary from $6 to almost $20. Even though the prices are getting higher, I still think it is much cheaper than going to the salon. Most salons probably charge from $40-120 for all over color and even more for highlights.
Have you ever added highlights to your hair?
Hair highlight kits are making it easier and easier to highlight your own hair. About 1 year ago I tried one of these kits. I was extremely nervous about ending up with some strange color. I probably removed the color way too soon because you could barely see much of a color difference.
This year I have bought another highlight kit and plan to add some highlights over the weekend. The kit I have bought comes with a cap that you supposedly pull the to-be-highlighted hair through little holes in the cap. Sounds a little tedious.
Have you ever tried a highlight kit from the drugstore? If so, leave your comments below about which brand you tried, which color, how long you left the color on your hair and how it turned out.
