Digestive Disorders That Cause Bloating

Usually, the bloating sensation that accompanies the tightness of the abdoman is a temporary feeling. It usually follows after you have just had a large meal. A natural occurence by your body is also in seeking relief through expelling gas.

However, there are also digestive diorders that cause bloating. For instance, food allergies which are usually associated with the ingestion of proteins. Because you may not be aware of all your food allergies, it is possible that you may feel bloated or even experience symptoms such as diarrhea.

An infection caused by intestinal parasites can also result in bloating. Admittedly, an infection of such parasites is not as common in American as it is in other parts of the world. Still there are ocassional reported incidences of poor hygiene habits, food which is not cooked to the proper temperature and then stored in accordance with food safety rules. In addition to bloating, you may also observe a discoloring of stools, severe anemia, and also vomiting.

Constipation can also contribute to bloating. In many cases, constipation is accompanied by severe cramps and also the release of stomach acid into the esophagus. It is best to make modifications to your diet first if you suffer from the effects of constipation and bloating, before turning to laxatives. Increasing your fiber intake may be all that you need to do to eliminate the discomfort that you feel.

If your cramps and bloating become severe, then do seek medical attention immediately. If you have frequent bouts of bloating, keep a food diary to note down what foods you have eaten. You want to have a record so that it is easy to trace offending foods that may have cause you tightness in your abdomen. Obviously, if you know what these foods are, remove them from your diet.
