Acne is a very common ailment among teenagers and even some adults. What exactly causes acne and are all these acne products and treatments really helping with the situation?

Common Acne Treatments

There are so many different acne treatments available today. There are all the ones in your drugstore aisle--each costing a fair amount of money. Then there are the specialty systems such as Proactiv, Clinique, Acne Free and more. If none of these work for you acne, you probably go to the dermatologist where they give you antiobiotics, an assortment of creams/gels/ointments or the last resort Accutane.

The real issue is that all of the above treatments for acne don't address the real culprit of acne production. Some researchers have concuded that acne is a bacteria infection caused from the abundance of yeast in the body.

As teenagers grow and develop thru puberty, perhaps the levels of bacteria in the body are disrupted and hence cause the reaction of acne. If you decide to take antibiotics, you will kill all of this bad bacteria and at the same time kill all the good bacteria. As soon as you stop taking the antibiotic, you will soon discover that you acne has returned in full force.

Perhaps we need to attack acne on a more root level. Reduce the amount of yeast/bad bacteria in the body with more natural methods and means thru diet/exercise and nutritional supplements. Once you kill the cause of acne, you shouldn't have to worry about treating just the symptoms anymore.
