Zinc Helps With Infertility
Posted on Jun 14, 2009 at 08:51 AM by Reuben Oyeyele

The food we eat and the drinks we drink contain several minerals that are necessary for series of functions of our body metabolism. Deficiency of these minerals may result in one form of health issue or the other. One of the most active minerals for maintaining a healthy life is Zinc. This time, we discuss the role of zinc in male infertility and how it affects other health issues such as decrease of estrogens.
Recently, a study brought yet another proof of the link between Zinc and the production of sperm by the testicles. A group of men were made to go through a clinical test whereby they were put on daily doses of supplements that contain Folic Acid and Zinc Sulphate. The clinical tests had the aim to monitor the effects of these minerals on spermatogenesis. In English, spermatogenesis is the process where the testicles produce (generate sperm cells).
The results were were found to give a greater insight on the effects of these supplements. The two substances vis, Folic Acid and Zinc significantly increased the sperm concentration in subfertile men. This result shows that Zinc and Folic acid may help infertile men to become fertile and have children.
It is adviced that men who are less fertile should consider eating foods and taking supplements that contain Zinc and/or Folic Acid over a period of 26 weeks which is also the time length over which the experiment was carried out. Daily doses of 5 mg Folic Acid and 66 mg of Zinc are considered to be completely safe. Daily supplements of minerals and natural vitamins are also adviced but you should first consult your Doctor before you embark on taking any supplement.
Additionally, you should go through a sperm test to determine whether your sperm count and volume are within normal levels.
Zinc can have positive effects on male sexual enhancement in general. Aside from Zinc, other naturally occuring supplements that may reduce male infertility are Solidilin, Reishi Mushrooms, Drilizen and Cordyceps which help to improve body's hormonal and vascular systems and help to increase the quantity of sperm. They also help to promote good blood flow to the pubic area.
Herbal supplements that contain zinc are Semen Enhancement Volume Pills as well as Male Anti Infertility Herbal Supplements. Again, before you embark on using any herbal supplements, refer and consult a medical expert.

A Better Waterproof Rubber Suit

In the 1920s, B.F. Goodrich developed a waterproof rubber suit to be used by motorists in the open cars of the era. It was advertised as being able to keep the motorist dry during storms and when facing adverse road conditions, and it was made from a solid rubber core covered on both sides with fabric. Designed with fasteners at the wrists and ankles, a collar that could be pulled up to make a hood, and zippers instead of buttons, it offered motorists a convenient way to stay dry. It was also advertised as being well-ventilated and cool to wear even in the hottest weather. Don't you wonder how a rubber suit could ever be cool?

Let's face it. Leather shoes are expensive. If you wear them outside in the winter snow or the rain, the water can damage them so badly that you have to throw them out. Low Libido And How To Increase It
Posted on Nov 2, 2008 at 04:18 PM by Reuben Oyeyele
| Comments (0)
Sexual desire is most probably an interaction between hormones and a woman's emotional, physical, and psychological situation at any given moment.
Libido has been considered to be closely tied to the level of testosterone in the body, a low level of this major sex hormone may result in a low libido both in men and women. In order to increase libido, a solution may be to increase the level of testosterone in the body.
Erectile dysfunction, another cause of sexual problems in men, is not necessarily related to loss of desire-though it can certainly affect libido.
There are different methods if increasing libido but the most important is to address the problem with the attitude of healthy living. Certain states of the mind are known to affect sexual desire and libido. A good example is stress or fear.
While in modern times, people look for libido enhancement products, a more efficient method is to use supplements that nature itself has provided in form of herbs.
Avocado is high in vitamin B6, which is a potent hormone regulator. Apparently, the Aztecs called the avocado tree the testicle tree. Avocados also contain vitamin B6, which increases male hormone production and potassium, which aids in regulating the female thyroid gland, enhancing a woman's sex drive. In addition, avocados are high in antioxidants, fibre and monounsaturated fat, which is believed to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes as well as increase libido.
Among those herbs suitable and appropriate in how to increase libido, include such ones as akarkara, salad misri, shilajit, kohinoor gold, Maca, horny goat weed, and many others. Healthy men who take Maca have also been shown to have increased semen volume, increased sperm counts, and enhanced sperm motility.
Cnidium This herb has been used for centuries in China to increase libido and performs two main functions. Firstly, it increases levels of nitric oxide and secondly, it helps pump blood to the extremities and that includes the genitals. Cnidium seeds are one of the most effective natural remedy to increase sex drive, boost libido and to treat impotence and erectile dysfunction.
Recent medical tests have indicated that Ginseng promotes natural and increased testosterone levels. Healthy men who take maca have also been shown to have increased semen volume, increased sperm counts, and enhanced sperm motility.
Chocolate can also increase libido. Chocolate that melts in your mouth, which contains cocoa butter, one of the only fats that melts at body temperature. That sensual feeling of the pulling of chocolate on your tongue, Hopkins says, triggers the same "Mmm" and "Ahh" sounds as lovemaking.
Testosterone decline may also be caused by medication. Men who take testosterone to overcome erectile dysfunction risk atrophy of the testicles. Testosterone is available by prescription only. An over the counter hormones, such as DHEA, converts into testosterone and thus has a positive influence on libido.
Women who have undergone a hysterectomy, for any reason, may also experience low sexual desire because the female hormones are suddenly depleted. Many women take medications (hormone replacement therapy or female libido pills) to replace the loss of hormones, which will usually increase libido, sexual desire, and sexual response. Women have been conditioned to be so quiet about sexual issues that the world of female libido enhancement has only recently cropped up. Female libido enhancement and womens sexuality in general was a little bit ignored compared to male impotence problems until now.

Lifestyle Could Lead To Massive Death In Next Decade!

In a commentary published on November 21, 2007 in the British journal Nature, a master plan was unveiled by international health experts aiming to avert at least 36 million premature deaths worldwide from 'lifestyle' diseases by 2015.
It is expected that some 388 million people around the world, 80 percent of them come from poorer nations, will die over the next decade from non-communicable diseases if people preserve the current unhealthy lifestyle.
Based on the WHO (World Health Organization) data, 44 percent of the premature deaths will originate from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lung disease and some cancers. This is twice as many as from all infectious diseases combined. The prevention of disability and death from chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDs), however, is not receiving sufficient attention.

Celiac disease is a digestive disease that affects the small intestine. Unfortunately, it is not easy to detect the presence of this disease since its symptoms are also common ones like diarrhea and cramping. However, if you consistently get diarrhea, abdominal pains and rectal discomfort, together with frequent bouts of inflammatory disorders like itchy skin rashes, you may have reason to suspect that you have celiac disease. One clear indicator is a severe reaction to gluten. Your intestines get inflammed whenever you consume wheat and bread products that contain this ingredient. If you do not get treatment for your celiac disease, poor growth and development coupled with low energy can occur due to the malabsorption of nutrients.

A big issue right now with presidential candidates is medical insurance. There is talk about a medical coverage plan that will enable every one to have health insurance and access to medical treatment.
No one has been able to come up with a solution that will work, which is probably why it is still being discussed. The candidates keep talking about their solution, but I'm not hearing anything good.
Talk is going on about 'Requiring' a person to be medically insured, or 'Requiring' only the children to be insured. I even heard a few comments yesterday about imposing fines on people when they show up at the hospital for medical care and don't have medical insurance.

Vaginal yeast infections are very common and occur in approximately 75% of the female population. They tend to occur more commonly in women who are under stress, lacking a nutritional diet, are taking antibiotics or who are ill. Infections can also happen as a result of hormonal imbalance during pregnancy. Women with a weak immune system are also at an increased risk of developing symptoms.

You may recall amino acids from elementary science as "the building blocks of life." In fact, amino acids make up 75% of the body and are required for every chemical reaction and every bodily function. So where do these amino acids come from? Ten amino acids come from our bodies naturally (alanine, asparagines, aspartic acid, cysteine glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, praline, serine and tyrosine). The other ten are derived from properly digested food (arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine). Unfortunately, these acids are not like our cell phone plans - they don't roll over. We need to constantly replenish our essential amino acids supply.

How to Get Rid of a Sore Throat?
Posted on Jan 12, 2007 at 12:22 AM by Saundra Jackson
| Comments (6)
A sore throat is one of the most common of medical complaints. It is an inflammation or infection of the pharynx accompanied with discomfort, pain, or scratchiness in the throat. A sore throat is contagious in most cases and can be spread through coughing and sneezing.
A sore throat is a symptom, not a disease. I know what it's like when the glands beneath your jaw begin to get sore, warning you that a sore throat is about to set in. In many cases, a sore throat is the first indication that you're getting sick.
A sore throat is one of the most common reasons patients go to the doctor's office. A sore throat is a common condition, and usually not a very serious one. It is a common symptom that ranges in severity from simple scratchiness to severe pain. A doctor should be consulted if your sore throat is a recurring problem not associated with a viral or bacterial infection.
But how do you know which sore throat is a strep throat infection. For example, a very common cause of sore throat is a bacterium called Streptococcus. In general, the more cold like symptoms you have, the less likely it is that your sore throat is a strep infection.

Stretch Marks Happens To Most People

Yes, stretch marks happens to most people. Actually, when it comes to stretch marks, we all get them sooner or later. Most people assume that only heavy people or pregnant women get them. That isn't even close to the truth. Basically, age and weight fluctuations play a very large role in who is going to get stretch marks and who isn't.
There are many different ways to deal with them that modern technology has come up with. You can have them taken out with a laser, but it can be very costly; leave you with scars, or even change the color of your skin all together.
There is also the effort of having your skin peeled repeatedly which can be painful as well as expensive. Even a little bit of cosmetic surgery claims to help you out with this unsightly problem. The only problem with these methods is that they are not guaranteed to even work.
These ways to deal with stretch marks may all serve their own purposes; however, there are safer and less stressful ways that you can do it. There are natural ways of dealing with stretch marks.
Why should you harm your body with costly surgeries and laser treatments when you don't have to? There are many natural ways that you can use that are just as effective as any other methods, but without all of the pain and money missing.
Did you find the information on stretch marks useful? You can learn more about how to remove stretch marks http://stretch-marks.todays-topic.com/

Making the correct decision when it comes to choosing your residential tanning bed is very important not only because you are making an investment of time and money, but because you want to choose a bed which is both safe, and cost effective.
Advantages
Purchasing a tanning bed for your home can save you thousands of dollars in the long run. It is convenient because you can tan when and where you want to. Also, tanning at home means you are no longer charged usage fees at your local salon. In addition, you save on transportation costs as well.
Types of Residential Tanning Beds
There are three basic types of tanning beds: horizontal, vertical and portable. These types are just as they sound. The horizontal bed is set up so that you lie down inside it, set the time and let the lamps emitting UV light tan your skin. The vertical beds work with the exact same premise except they are more like a booth and you stand up. Portables are a bit different as they are on a wheeled structure with a ceiling or canopy of UV lights which you can position over yourself. However, they are not as thorough as the vertical or horizontal beds, and your tan may not be as even.
Power Supply
When it comes to choosing a tanning bed, you want to make sure you choose one which is powered by the appropriate power supply. Commercial beds do not necessarily run on the same voltage as residential ones. The typical bed runs on 120V or 200V.
Bulbs
The number of bulbs and the strength of each bulb also should factor into choosing the best tanning bed for your home. More is not necessarily better. 16 and 24 bulb tanning beds are the norm, although some beds can go up to as many as 48 bulbs. The bulb strength for tanning beds varies. A bed can have bulbs of different strengths for different parts of the body, or only one strength for all the bulbs.
Price
Price is often the deciding factor when it comes to choosing a tanning bed for your home. Prices can range anywhere from $1000 to $4000 depending on the features you want. One way to cut down on costs is to either purchase a used tanning bed, or buy one on wholesale. Even if you only want to purchase one bed you can still buy it for the wholesale price.
Another way to save money is to purchase your tanning bed online which cuts out the middle man.
Finally, cutting out the extra bells and whistles on your residential tanning bed will also lower the price. Choosing a tanning bed for your home is akin to choosing a good car. You want to get the best quality for the lowest price.
At GetaBetterTan, we can help you find the best residential tanning bed to suit your needs. Whether you're looking for used beds or wondering how to get tanning bed financing, we've got the info you need.

Some women in their early 40’s may start noticing a difference about how they feel both mentally and physically. This could very well be the start of perimenopause defined as the years before actual menopause. During this time, women can experience mild to severe menopause symptoms that in some cases can be debilitating. Up until very recently, hormone replacement therapy was used to treat severe symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal discomfort and others.

Medical Malpractice Obsetrics

Medical Malpractice
Medical malpractice is here to stay, or so it would seem. Hospitals are always trying to raise standards, to reduce their civil liability and to pass inspections so they can keep receiving their funding. Doctors are always trying to cover themselves, defensively avoiding admitting mistakes. And they pay hefty malpractice premiums. During training, instructors drum it in to the heads of student nurses that safety is their greatest priority.
Obstetrics is a major area of medical malpractice lawsuits. Doctors face prohibitively high malpractice insurance premiums; it seems as some are driven out of business because of them. Then also, obstetrics is, by its very nature, an area fraught with danger. Mothers face a significant risk of death and babies face a significant risk of injury, especially brain damage. Additionally, people place such intense emotions over their babies that this increases the desire to sue the doctor or anybody else if something goes wrong.
Failure to perform a C-section on time is a common cause of litigation. For example, an Illinois mother went to the hospital after her bag of waters broke. A fetal monitor was placed. Periods of decelerated heart rate occurred several times. The nurse on shift and the next nurse on shift both delayed in reporting this decelerated heart rate to the obstetrician. An operating room was also not available on time. Delays occurred, but the obstetrician did eventually carry out a C-section. The child was born with brain damage, has cerebral palsy and cannot talk or walk. The mother and her family blamed the child's condition on this delay. The doctor defended himself by saying that the injuries came from a rupture of the umbilical cord, which was not his fault.
In another case, a mother came to the hospital with ruptured membranes, and a medication was ordered to speed up labor. Decelerations of fetal heart rate appeared. The nurse decided to turn off Pitocin, the medication that speeds up labor. The doctor ordered it started again. The fetal heart rate looked flat, an ominous sign. The doctor ordered an increase in IV fluids. The Pitocin continued again. An amnioinfusion was carried out, and the scalp electrode was placed on the head of the fetus. The doctor tried to extract the baby three times, with a vacuum extractor. He was unsuccessful. The baby was stuck in the pelvis. Finally a C-section was carried out, and the baby was delivered. The baby was born with brain damage, and is in a vegetative condition. He is fed through a stomach tube, and is not anticipated to live a full lifespan. In this lawsuit, the baby's family contends that this could have been avoided by performing the C-section sooner. The doctor denies this, and defends himself by saying that this event was sudden and unpredictable and it was not possible for him to prevent it, and it could not have been anticipated.
Elsewhere, an obstetrician planned to induce labor because of decreased fetal movement, when the mother was already past the due date by two weeks. The doctor's note says that the mother turned down the offer of a C-section, and instead chose to deliver by labor. She was given a suppository to help prepare the cervix but it was not effective. An epidural anesthetic was given, and then the fetal heart rate dropped way down, a bad sign. An ultrasound was done but showed no fetal heart rate. A C-section was done then, the child was born dead. The doctor's defense was at the mother turned down the offer of a C-section twice, which resulted in aspiration and brain damage.
Three sad stories. Who was really to blame? In these three cases, the plaintiffs all won some settlements. On the average, they lose half or more than half the time.

Liquid Stabilized Oxygen Supplements

I have been meaning to post some new information, but these past few days have just been so busy! Needless to say, I am very excited that today is Friday and a hopefully relaxing weekend lies ahead.
Being so busy really got me thinking about how my body would have felt in the past had I not been taking supplements and vitamins. Most likely a week like I just had would have at minimally drained my body enough to catch some sort of cold or virus. This was very common especially my first few years of being a teacher. This then twice a year would lead into a sinus infection and put me in a state of misery of which I could not function without having to be put on an antibiotic. I used to think that it was just a natural twice a year occurrence that I could not do anything to prevent. Boy was I dead wrong!

Exercise and Arthritis

Your bones hang out in a lot of joints. Knee joints. Hip joints. The joints in your fingers and the joints in your toes.
Wherever bones meet, there is also cartilage, a rubbery, protective layer that ensures your joints bend smoothly and painlessly. But even cartilage cannot do this tremendous job alone. A thin membrane called the “synovium” provides fluid that lubricates the moving parts of the joint. When the cartilage wears out of the synovium becomes inflamed, the result is generally a case of “osteoarthritis” or “rheumatoid arthritis.”

You should not leave your IBS symptoms untreated. If you have been having symptoms for a while, then you should not just automatically dismiss them as non life-threatening and therefore, not visit the doctor.
There are other conditions that have many of the same symptoms as IBS that should be treated. The doctor will do tests to ensure that you do not have something worse like an ulcer or cancer that is causing your symptoms. After your doctor has diagnosed you with IBS, then you need to learn how to stop the symptoms so that you can live a normal life. The Best Sunless Tanning Lotions: Today’s top picks
Posted on Oct 2, 2006 at 11:47 AM by Kristie Brown

Sunless tanning lotions are on the rise now more than ever as more of us realize that sun bathing is dangerous for our skin and subsequently, dangerous to our health. Many believe that because of global warming, the sun has become a real danger for our skin; causing premature aging and serious skin problems such as skin cancer. In recent years, we've seen increased concerns when it comes exposuing our skin directly to the sun.
So how can we maintain a healthy glow year round without subjecting our skin to the harmful rays of the sun? That's right! Sunless tanning lotions!
Have you ever wondered how sunless tanning lotions work?
Our skin naturally protects us from the UV damage by producing something called melanin. This is a substance that absorbs the harmful rays of the sun to protect our DNA. When our body produces melanin it darkens the skin thus, creating what we know as a tan.
Sunless tanning lotions replicate this process by using a chemical called Dihydroxyacetone - DHA. DHA colors our skin by interacting with the amino acids in dead skin cells; when the dead skin cells shed so does the color.
You'll get the best results with sunless tanning lotion if you have a fair complexion. This is because fair skinned individuals tend to burn, rather than tan, when exposed to the sun. But if you do have fair skin, you do need to be careful when applying sunless tanners, not all of them are created equal. If you don't know what you're doing, your tan can end up looking orange or blotchy.
The following products have been picked as the best value on the market in regard to the quality they offer.
- Banana Boat Sunless Tanning Crème
- Coppertone Oil Free Effortless Sunless Tanning Lotion
- Neutrogena instant bronzing foam
- Neutrogena Sunless Tanning foam
- L’Oreal self tanning lotion with SPF 15
There are many more sunless tanning lotions to pick from and experiment with as you like. Some top house lotions like Lancôme, Clarins, Estee Lauder and YSL to name a few have excellent products as well but can be a bit more on the expensive side.
To get the best results from your sunless tanning lotion, try doing the following:
- Exfoliate the areas that you wish to apply the lotion before application. This will eliminated the dead skin cells and prolong your tanned look.
- Do not take a shower, take a bath or use water just after you applied the sunless tanning lotion. This will prevent irregular streaking.
- Don't forget to use gloves when applying the lotion, unless you want to have orange hands for the next week or so.
Sunless tanning lotion is a great product and a fantastic alternative to the sun's harmful rays. Not only can you mimic a natural tan more effectively than ever, but you can ensure that your skin will look healthy, young and refreshed as you mature over time.
GetaBetterTan gives you free tips on self tanning, what to look for when comparing sunless tanners and information on how to safely use tanning beds so you can get a healthy looking tan year round.
Hair Loss Solutions For Women That Really Work
Posted on Oct 2, 2006 at 11:36 AM by Kristie Brown
| Comments (0)
Hair loss solutions for women are out there. When most people think of hair loss, they think of men. Female balding occurs in women more often then we would like. The good news is this: it's easier to find a solution for women then for men as womens' conditions are usually temporary and can be improved.
The causes of hair loss in women:
There are a few reasons why women face female balding. It's important you identify the reason of your hair loss before beginning any treatment.
Some common reasons for female hair loss are:
- Androgenetic alopecia: This is the hereditary form of baldness which usually affects 50% of men and some women after the age of 40.
- Hormonal changes: Hair thinning occurs sometimes in women after menopause when they experience hormonal changes.
- Pregnancy: During pregnancy hair loss may occur because the body's metabolism is stressed with the pregnancy, while feeding the baby at the same time and trying to balance the mother's body. Sometimes during pregnancy women are faced with other deficiencies such as calcium for the same reason. Pregnancy during hair loss will pass the month after the baby is born.
- Stress: This is a very popular cause of hair loss in women and men. It can be delayed as much as three months after you were faced with a stressful period. Physical and emotional stress always take a toll on your body and often show physical signs in your hair, nails, teeth and skin glow.
- Diets: Some women undertake crash diets in order to achieve a desired look. Nutrition greatly effects your hair growth.
Individuals who undergo a crash diet can experience a variety of undesirable results such as a loss of the natural glow in their skin, their nails can become very britle and they can notice signs of thinning in their hair as well.
On a positive note, aside from hereditary baldness, all of the above conditions can be treated. Hereditary baldness, however, can only be treated through hair transplant and/or wigs.
Treatments for hair thinning or hair loss
- Hair tonic: There are many products available on the market today with some applicable in the shower and some you leave in your hair after a shower. They are very beneficial should you follow the full treatment religiously.
- Hair mask: The mask acts similar to the tonic but hair masks must be washed out. A mask conditions and nourishes your hair from the root to the tip of the hair folicle. Use hair masks before every shower or as indicated on the package.
- Drugs: If you'd rather not bother with hair applications, specific drugs are available in the pharmacy that target both hair and nails. They too are very effective if a proper treatment if observed. Taking care of your diet as well as balancing your stress levels is the key to great hair and lively health. Eat healthy and exercise to improve your body's nutrition and general well being.

Very often, the terms "acid reflux" and "indigestion" are used interchangeably to mean the same thing. Despite having very similar symptoms, there are a number of differences between the two conditions. Acid reflux symptoms are more often than not a lot more severe. While the symptoms for indigestion is usually short lived, acid reflux symptoms can persist for more than a few hours.
Acid reflux can be mild or serious. If it becomes serious, the condition is also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It is characterised by pain in the oesophagus and throat where the acid from the stomach causes damage to the lining. These acid reflux symptoms can often only be relieved with prescription medications.

Sauna is widely used for as a method of skin cleansing. This is an ideal detox method for the elimination of the environmental chemicals stored in the fat cells. For skin cleansing using sauna, a dry heat sauna that is not treated with the toxic chemicals is required.
The infrared sauna treatment is generally used for skin cleansing to stimulate the body for the elimination of toxins. The release of toxin usually starts with the elimination of carbon dioxide. Skin cleansing is the method whereby surface dirt and other substances which accumulate and cause the clogging of the pores of your skin are removed. It is recommended that you regularly perform skin cleansing for a blemish free and healthy complexion.
What is Skin Cleansing For Detox
Approximately 10% of body elimination occurs through the skin. Skin is the largest organ in your body. Your skin works in conjuction with other organs of elimination such as the colon, kidneys, and lungs. If one of these organs is stressed and not eliminating waste products efficiently, then the remaining organs will have to bear a greater burden. Thus, if you have skin problems, they can be indicative that your colon is not performing well.

Then that was considered bad and you were supposed to eat just low carbohydrates. As we travel from one end of the see-saw to the other, our daily lives and health are at risk. Will be buy into the latest medical reports and research and change our habits? I just read today in a press release that some sugars may have healing power. I have to agree...that Hershey chocolate bar I just ate has really helped in healing my mood.

Why You Need To Do Liver Cleansing For Removal Of Gallstones

You may think that the ideal cleaning for gallstones is gallbladder cleansing. However, there are reasons why liver cleansing is the more ideal method to take for removal of gallstones.
A very important function of liver is the bile production. Bile is transported from the liver to the common bile duct through a series of tubes. The common bile duct is attached to the gallbladder, which stores the bile. The gallbladder releases bile for the digestion of fats. Gallstones can therefore be present in the tubes in liver, common bile duct and in gallbladder.

Getting treated for cancer is a nerve wrenching experience as there may be little time left for the cancer stricken patient if detected late. The best way to a healthy body is to prevent cancer from happening in the first place.

Constipation has fast become a common complaint among many Americans. In fact, annually, an average 4 million Americans say that they experience constipation. Constipation is triggered by insufficient water and fiber intake.
Constipation is the irregular movement of bowels. When one experiences constipation, stools are hard and this leads to difficulty in passing them.
The normal bowel movement of a healthy adult varies between 3 and 21 times a week. A healthy adult should pass at least one bowel movement a day. Less than three bowel movements is medically a condition of constipation and less than one bowel movement in a week is acute constipation.

The New Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

We are bombarded on all fronts with new anti-wrinkle treatments and new sophisticated skin regimen that are supposed to take years off the face—microdermabrasion, botox injections, face lifts and laser resurfacing. More than ever, we are harnessing the powers of technology to create a Brave New World of ageless boomers. And while I have no objections to wanting to look young (who doesn’t), I do think that being young is more a state of mind than a state of “looks.” Looks can be artificially manipulated; a state of mind can only be cultivated.
Even the word “cultivation” suggests that the process of staying young takes time. And time is something our society seems intent on making dispensable. Yet the best things in life take time. Think of your children through the lenses of the family album; it is the changes tabulated in those pictures that make them so rich in character and experience now. Time deepens the experience; time ages the moment by filling it with layers made accessible through memories. Without time, we are like ants—filled only with a pale and surface instant. Living the moment is a call for cultivating the layers of time within the moment.
And so with the face....

Stressed? Have a Talk with Your Body

Ilana Rubenfeld Ph.D knows first hand what having a conversation with your body means. A gifted violinist at the Julliard School of Music, Rubenfeld was well on her way to become the first woman conductor in the music scene when a debilitating back spasm cut short her music career. It was at that point that Rubenfeld turned to the resources of her body and transformed trauma into triumph by embarking on a personal mission to look for answers in the body’s wisdom. The result is The Listening Hand: The Rubenfeld Synergy Method of Talk and Touch which made her a world-recognized pioneer in integrating psychotherapy, body work and intuition. “You can learn to develop ‘listening hands’ in order to ‘hear’ changes in the body," she says. Talking with your body is the first step towards healing and integration.

Moving Towards An Ageless Body

Picture this—a woman in a red bodysuit, back arched on a narrow perch. A bar holds the base of her neck, a seat holds the small of her back as her body, well-toned, flexible with full musculature, secures itself onto the perch. Her left leg, straight and taut, is held high off the ground by powerful back and thigh muscles. Her hair, thick and dark, swoops towards the floor, revealing a strong, firm neck. Nothing in the pose, skin or face belies her age. She is 69.
Meet Emilie Conrad, the woman with the Ageless Body. Founder of the Continuum Movement, Emilie has been tapping into the body’s wisdom since her early years. Even as a child, she had a strong intuition that life was imbued with a unifying spirit. A fortuitous visit to Haiti confirmed her intuition; enchanted by the undulating movements of the Haitian prayer rituals, she sensed its power to connect the human body to a primal fluid rhythm. She saw the earth speaking through the feet of the prayer ritual dancers.
Haiti was an epiphany for Emilie Conrad; it showed her the vast discrepancy between western culture and the thick, aqueous, molasses culture that has its roots in Africa. “Western culture abhors the ‘body’,” says Conrad. Body wisdom is ignored in favor of more repetitive, mechanical and dissociated movement that is characteristic not only of our western concept of fitness, but also of the boxed-in, 9-5 routines of our society. The body in the western world is controlled, bound to an agenda.

How to Determine if You Have Eczema Skin Symptoms

Eczema skin symptoms show an inflammation of the skin which is usually accompanied by intense itching and possible infection. The itchy skin symptom of eczema is the major condition of atopic dermatitis. An eczema sufferer finds it difficult to stop scratching due to the itchy skin. Scratching causes redness, bleeding, swelling, cracking and eventually to crusting and scaling.
Eczema skin symptoms may clear up for a period and then resurfaced again. This is largely because eczema has not been cured or is curable in the first place. Children who have eczema from young may find that they have sensitive skins that are prone to outbreaks of eczema every now and then througout their lives.

Diet Recipes Can Harm Your Diet

I recently read "The Ultimate Low Fat Baking Cookbook." This is a huge, glossy-photo coffee table books, so I start flipping through and first thing I noticed the photos. They were taken close up to make it appear the cakes and slices of pie were normal sized, but if you looked closer you could see that was not the case. These were Barbie doll sized portions! Every cake recipe made the equivalent of a one-layer round yet served eight. You do the math. Divide it in half, then again into quarters, and finally into eighths and you've got some dinky portions. So, naturally the calorie count, fat content, carb content, and the sodium are low, but that's not a diet recipe.
That's why I've usually shunned these cookbooks. Yes, they do make some substitutions to bring down the overall fat content in the recipe, but let's be realistic. When's the last time you made a batch of cookies that served 18?

Try Juice Fasting as Your Detox Diet

Our bodies get toxins from the highly processed foods that we consume, the contaminated water that we drink and the polluted air that we breathe. There are many ways that you can eliminate toxins from your body. One is by colon cleansing and another is through a detox diet. Juice fasting is a method of detoxification via diet. Many studies have shown the beneficial effects of juice fasting: treat bio chemical imbalances, reduce our cholesterol levels, treat allergies, acne, weight loss, etc.

Prevent Colon Cancer Through Colon Cleansing
By Sandra Kim Leong
The colon fulfills very important functions in our bodies. The colon's job is to retain water and nutrients into our bodies and help us eliminate waste. American diets are low in fiber and in fact, many do not drink enough water. Good sources of fiber is found in vegetables and fruits.
The low level of fiber prevents the colon from cleaning itself. This results in a buildup of toxic matter in the colon. The buildup of toxic matter in the colon can lead to many health problems, the most serious of which is colon cancer. A toxic body also means a weakened immune system and the body's inability to fight disease and illness.

For those of you who continue to eat red meat and indulge in the occasional (or not so occasional!) high fat foods, colon cleansing is a good way to treat the health problems associated with a poor diet. When your colon health is poor, you can get high blood pressure, heart disease, colon cancer. One of the ways to do colon cleansing is by colon hydrotherapy.

And they maintained my good state of health; I was rarely ill during my upbringing.
We only went to doctors for shots (oh the pain) or if we broke or busted something up (like my chin) or needed something taken out (like my brother's tonsils). This was what doctors were for...for the out of the ordinary.
But somehow things have changed. People don't seem to know how to
