In this crazy world today there are so many activities that occupy our time. What happened to those lazy weekends where you did absolutely nothing but rest?
The big problem with all of these activities is that it can become very difficult to schedule any sort of vacation or time away from the daily grind. Maybe if we took a different approach to vacation, we might be less stressed out and even more healthy.
Making vacation plans is secondary to the primary factors of time and money.

Medical Malpractice: Wrongful Death Due to Negligence of Medical Professionals

It's true a wrongful death jury award can never bring a loved one back. A personal injury law victory also does not fill the void left when a wife and mother is suddenly taken away through the negligence of others.
Gordon Gibb of www.lawyersandsettlements.com tells the story of a legal case where simple act cost someone her life and $2.6 million in compensation.
"While any medical condition can be complex in nature," says Mr. Gibb, " the case that pitted the family of a deceased woman against Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois hinged on a questionable hospital protocol that is alleged to have only required a nurse to place a lab report into a folder, and place it on a doctor's desk without verbally informing the doctor-or any doctor, for that matter--that the contents of the file were key to the survivability of a serious infection."

Now there are many SPF products available, but there is still the risk of getting a sunburn.

Do you know of anyone that enjoys going to the dentist? Usually kids like to go to the dentist until they find out they have a cavity. Then the excitement is all gone.
There are some people that do anything to avoid the dentist, including let their teeth rot. Personally, I would rather go to the dentist to prevent and get rid of all cavities to avoid the nasty root canal/crown procedure. Not only does it hurt your wallet, but it isn't a pleasant experience.
The other day a part of my tooth chipped off, with maybe a small portion of the filling that was in the tooth.

Keeping a positive attitude is so important for your mental as well as physical health. The more positive your thoughts, the more likely you will be happier and healthier.
I read recently a review of a book on the secrets of happy people (sorry I can't remember the title of the book) and it said one of the most common characteristics of happy people was the positive attitude. These people looked at everything in a different way than their unhappy counterparts.
Recently I overheard a soccer coach talking about how to get several of his players to make more goals. Every time one of the players had the ball and was about to make a goal, she would inevitably kick it right to the goalie.
Despite his continuous repetition of "Don't hit it to the goalie", these players would keep on doing the same thing. Until........

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted, urogenital disease that frequently goes un or misdiagnosed. As a result of this under diagnosing many individuals suffer from Adult Inclusion Conjunctivitis(A.I.C.). The reason for the misdiagnosing is the lack of desire by many eye doctors to raise the sensitive subject of sexually transmitted diseases. Often, these individuals may be reluctant to be forthright about their sexual encounters since they are extramarital in nature.

Binge Eating During Christmas

It is only typical that we indulge too much on food and drink every once in a while, especially during Christmas celebrations. But if you have an eating disorder, such as binge eating, you will find it hard to resist the temptation of eating compulsively at Christmas dinners and parties. In fact, holiday celebrations only present a number of opportunities for you to binge. Holiday food has the added appeal of being specially prepared and decidedly tasty, and it's hard even for somebody who does not have an eating disorder to fight the temptation to overindulge.

Alternative practices involve the use of self hypnosis for reprogramming the mind. Self hypnosis is a conscious decision, and you decide ahead of time where and when to focus your attention. In the past, many people are skeptical about hypnosis. Their skepticism is based on what they have been seeing on magic shows. However, more and more people are beginning to know about the benefits of self hypnosis.
Self hypnosis can be used to help you lose weight or to quit smoking. Other benefits include dealing with pain control, habit disorders, addictions, stress, self-esteem issues, sports enhancement, improving memory and concentration, and controlling symptoms from diseases. Self hypnosis is a health tool as it also allows you to manage your own health of body and mind at optimum levels. It can bring about changes brought on by daily stressors, accelerate learning and help you attain your goals more easily.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, and abuse can often occur together in the same way that narcissism, addictions, and abuse--what I write about on my website--so often do. The things is, while we saw many Vietnam War veterans who were PTSD sufferers end up having problems with addictions or engaging in domestic violence, this isn't a scenario we're destined to repeat when our troops come marching home from Iraq or Afghanistan. After all, when soldiers returned from Vietnam, we didn't know about PTSD.

How To Recognize Food Allergy Symptoms
Posted on Dec 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM by Evelyn Lim
| Comments (0)
Have you ever wondered if the discomfort that you are experiencing came as a result of food allergy symptoms? Food allergy symptoms usually show up within minutes after eating. However, sometimes, it can take up to a few hours, for their effects to show. Usually, those that occur right away can be easily identified while those that took hours to appear, may be misdiagnosed as other problems or lumped into a 'catch all' diagnosis that is not clearly understood.
Food allergy symptoms can be mild or severe. Some food allergy symptoms are merely uncomfortable, while others can be debilitating or even life threatening. For example, a mild reaction may give you a skin rash that disperses over time. Conversely, a severe reaction can cause severe inflammation and the throat can swell up to the point that you cannot breathe.

Cause Of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Linked To Stomach Virus?

The cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is not completely known. Researchers remain baffled for years. Sufferers have obvious symptoms, and yet the cause has remained elusive. More recently, however, new discoveries have been made and researchers may have linked a stomach virus with the disorder.
The stomach was first proposed as a potential cause of chronic fatigue syndrome because digestive difficulties often accompany the disorder. Many people reporting chronic fatigue syndrome also have symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive complaints. Researchers decided that these symptoms warrant further investigations to find out the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome.

You may recall amino acids from elementary science as "the building blocks of life." In fact, amino acids make up 75% of the body and are required for every chemical reaction and every bodily function. So where do these amino acids come from? Ten amino acids come from our bodies naturally (alanine, asparagines, aspartic acid, cysteine glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, praline, serine and tyrosine). The other ten are derived from properly digested food (arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine). Unfortunately, these acids are not like our cell phone plans - they don't roll over. We need to constantly replenish our essential amino acids supply.

The Link Between Allergies And Leaky Gut Syndrome
Posted on Nov 1, 2007 at 08:09 PM by Evelyn Lim

In a normal digestive system, the cells that line the intestines "draw up" the materials that our body needs from the food passing through and it leaves what we don't need. When you have leaky gut syndrome, the body "draws up" too much food, including undigested or partially digested food, and this food enters the bloodstream. If the liver is unable to process this food in a quick manner, then the body will begin to produce antibodies against these food molecules, simply because the food is considered foreign to the body. This process causes an entirely new problem for you to deal with. What causes leaky gut syndrome?

Prevent A Size Zero Eating Disorder

There are several types of eating disorders, but the most common are anorexia nervosa, where you find a person eating practically nothing at all and excessively losing weight, and bulimia, where you see a person go binge-eating and then forcing the body to vomit all the food out after eating.
A catch-all category, EDNOS for eating disorders not otherwise specified, covers a host of deviant eating behaviours for which no specific names have been designated but otherwise have a common theme: an inordinate and obsessive concern about food and body. EDNOS thus includes over-exercising in fear of gaining weight, overly concerned with thinness, yo-yo dieting, over-emphasis on repeated cleansing.

FEAR IS A DEADLY VIBRATION

FEAR IS A VIBRATION
Every psychological mood is itself a rate of vibration. Every psychological image including a dream image, is also a vibratory 'entity'. Every vibratory 'entity' comes into existence around a core of conditioned energy.
Every living thing both physical and not physical is a vibration. And each of these vibrations is 'alive' in its own sense.
The moment we become afraid of anything our vibratory energy is reduced because we become afraid. Then our defenses begin to crumble.
Fear causes that which we fear to come upon us. Like attracts like according to the laws of attraction. Do you realize that just talking about cancer, even if you think it is positive like "..we must eradicate cancer..." attracts cancer? The world must stop talking about cancer altogether and it will go away like a mad dog.

Your Want To Do List

HOW TO CONVERT A TO-DO LIST, TO A WANT TO DO LISTS
I don't like "Have To's". I LOVE "Want To's". The fewer have to's, and the more wan -to's I have in a day, the happier I am. The happier I am, the more energy I have, so upping my want to's appears to be a good thing for my life.
Here is a technique that works well for me.
I am assuming that you write To-Do lists. Let's say you have a list of 20 items that need to be done in the next week. A few of these items are essential, and have to be done by a certain time, whether you feel like doing them or not. These are usually things like paying bills, buying food, and going to work. My advice is to just do them, assume they won't be fun, and be rid of them. This article is really about the non time-critical items that remain.
Now, you could approach your list by using logic and discipline, going down line by line, and making yourself complete every item until you reach the bottom... Yuk.

The Anatomy of Risks

The Anatomy of Risks
Comfort Zones keep us safe from RISK. Taking a risk is when we do something new and we don't know how it's going to turn out. Period. If you are human, that stirs up anxiety and fear of the unknown. The "What If" Thinking often begins: "What if this turns out badly?", "What if I end up worse off than I am now?", and the big one, "What if I fail?" which is really "What if I'm not good enough."
If you get to this point in considering taking a risk, and then stop, you get to run back into your comfort zone. Good news, safety, whew!
The bad news is that after the initial relief, you get to feel the nagging discontent begin yet again. And that discomfort grows, and grows, as safety blurs into suffering. When the suffering gets big enough, you may consider risk again. I have seen people bounce between risk consideration and safety over and over again. It's exhausting, and every time they watch themselves run back to the safety zone, their self esteem and confidence gets smaller and smaller.
Nobody can make you take risks. It's your life and your choice.

Back to School- What Do You Want for Your New Year?

Back to School
It's back to school time! I've been out of school for 22 years, and I still cringe when I see those signs go up in the stores. I then remind myself that I don't have to go to school, and that feels better. But it also means that summer is drawing to a close, and my favorite season is once again ending. Lastly, it marks the ending of my north woods camping season, which is good news/bad news for me. I will close up the beloved lake front property, and have to say goodbye to my woods for 7 months. The good news is that I get to live in just one place again, rather than spending time in two different states, with lots of driving. That gets really confusing after awhile. One summer I actually slept in 4 different places; what a mess. But now I can settle in, clean up, and know where all my stuff is for awhile.

Your Comfort Zone
What is a "Comfort Zone" anyway?
Wikipedia defines it as the following: "A comfort zone denotes that limited set of behaviors that a person will engage without becoming anxious. Alternatively denoted as a "plateau" it describes that set of behaviors that have become comfortable, without creating a sense of risk."
Your Comfort Zone is the way you do things, the way you think, the things you believe. It is familiar territory, and it is where you feel totally SAFE.
It is also where you will get the same results you always get, again SAFE. Safe is good, right?

Why Aren't You Doing Your Art?

WHY AREN'T YOU DOING YOUR ART?
Humans are creative creatures. Period. Everyone is born with a unique creative talent. Your soul knows exactly which creative gift you came brilliantly equipped to contribute to the planet. I suppose in a perfect world, we would all grow up free to express our passions; with parents encouraging us all the way to truly be our unique little selves. But a perfect world would be boring, so the Universe spices things up by making it more challenging than that. Our caregivers and society encourage us to 'become' something that will pay well, or push us to a career that they wished they had had, or, worst of all, tell us that what we are or what we want is wrong or crazy, impractical or impossible.
That might work except for one thing; your soul never forgets what you came to do, and it doesn't stop reminding you with that little nagging feeling.

Change - Humans Hate It, How to Manage It
Change.....It can be brutal. I guess the hardest one is the death of a loved one. There are also lovely little changes like divorce, jobs going away, kids leaving home, new bosses, moving, the list goes on.
But wait a minute. If there wasn't change, you'd stay an infant, and never grow up. You would never go to kindergarten and start school. You'd never get married, nor have kids. So ok, change can be good.
What is it about change that makes human beings so nervous? Well, there's definitely uncertainty. I don't like that much. But what is it really that rattles us so?

Ladies, Is it Time to Stop Being Codependent?

What can you do if you are married to a narcissist who is also suffering from addictions and engages in emotional abuse and verbal abuse, too? Well, it just might be time to awaken to your own codependency. Yes, it might be time to take action to change yourself so someday soon, you'll be codependent no more.
Now ladies, it might make for a nice country song to sing about standing by your man, and despite the fact he engages in problematic behaviors regularly. But in real life, you have to open your eyes to reality. Indeed, you need to open your eyes to the fact you can not control things; you can not make them turn out how you desire.

Smart parenting is coaching kids to help them make better and better decisions in all parts of their life, so that when they grow up they are happy, successful adults. There is such a thing as smart parenting, and it is supposed to be understood and internalized. Research shows rising depression and suicide in teenagers, and we feel a key antidote is smart parenting, because it creates can-do kids, kids who are up-beat and confident; they should be, because they are successful in life. By practicing smart parenting, you will enjoy and cherish being a parent, no matter how challenging the task may seem. I want to become the best parent my children could ever have using the smart parenting ways.

Diet pills are hands down the most misunderstood weight loss product available. But although diet pills promise a quick fix, can they deliver. They are used only to begin weight loss programs, and studies have shown that there is a limit to the amount of weight that can be lost because of diet pills. Although obesity can lead to potentially life–threatening consequences, some physicians only prescribe diet pills as a last resort. The best diet pills available are those that have caused the most significant weight loss to a number of people.
Hoodia

Anxiety and depression are the most common mental illnesses affecting more than 35 million Americans each year. Symptoms of anxiety and depression are complex emotional disorders and they do not mean you are going insane. They are among the most treatable health conditions that we suffer. No specific cause for depression and anxiety has been identified. It is believed that the emotional and physical symptoms of anxiety and depression stem from a chemical imbalance that exists in the brain. Both anxiety and depression are frequently treated in much the same manner, which may explain why the two disorders are so often confused. When you're suffering the torment of stress, anxiety and depression, you want relief and you want it fast.

Helpful tips for getting rid of adult acne

When it comes to adult acne many people are not only embarrassed about the condition of their skin but have tried a ton of different things to get rid of acne once and for all.
I'm here to tell you that no one acne treatment solution will work for everyone.
What is important to understand is that some acne medications may actually cause your skin to initially break out worse than before. This is because all FDA-approved acne medications (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur) are causing your skin to regenerate faster.
What happens is that existing acne pimples (which are already under your skin only not visible yet) are brought to the surface. This in turn may cause a huge break out - which is usually only temporary.

Surgery should not be the first option to end snoring as it is an invasive procedure that may involve a slight risk of complications. Try singing - a recent discovery that apparently is reporting good success rates.
A study in the United Kingdom tried to see if singing exercises could be used to strengthen the palate, make it less flabby and so less likely to vibrate and cause snoring. The study involved twenty people who snored nightly. Their sleeping and snoring patterns were monitored for seven consecutive nights. Their snores were also voice recorded.

New Year’s Resolutions – what shape is your resolution in?

It is day sixteen of 2007. Is your holiday poinsettia in better shape than your resolutions? If so you needn’t beat yourself up about it. Tomorrow is a new day.
While a New Year brings forth a sense of renewal and hope and is a good time to start fresh so is each and every day. Each morning offers up a clean slate and an opportunity to begin anew.
Resolutions are made for many reasons. Sometimes we base them on things we feel we should accomplish but don’t really want to. Without a burning desire to succeed we fail.
What may seem like a grand idea just before the stroke of midnight often isn’t as realistic come morning if we lack the motivation to achieve it. And by the end of the first week, many well intended resolutions will have experienced a slow and silent death.
A successful resolution is one that isn’t too ambitious or made in haste. It also isn’t one based on deprivation or guilt.

At the time of her death she was 1.72m tall and less than 40 kilos which is 5′7′ and 88 pounds. Ana Carolina was an attractive model for Ford, Elite, and L’Equipe. The issues examined in the show are pretty real. The show follows the various ups and downs that the women go through in their bid to become thin. It also examines the social impact to those with eating disorders. Aneroxia Symptoms That You Must Pay Heed To

Out of all the eating disorders known, anorexia nervosa or aneroxia is the most common. It is a relatively new condition as it emerged only in recent times. Aneroxia is a condition that has everything to do with our thoughts on looks. Many of us are greatly influenced by the constant slew of marketing visuals on how the perfect body should look like. Thse visuals invade everywhere; be they in fashion magazines, in the stores, on the TV and on the web.
Aneroxia happens when you have a distorted view of body proportions. You are likely to believe that you are overweight when in fact you are not. You are overly concerned about having too much fat on yourself when there is actually no cause for that belief. You become obssessed with exercising, dieting and losing weight. Anorexia nervosa is largely considered a psychological disorder.

Natural Cold Remedies For The Coming Winter

As winter approaches, it is the season for colds again. Colds are usually brought about by the spread of a virus from person to person. This virus has the ability to affect your entire body and its functioning. If your immune system is not strong, you will find it hard to fight the virus. This is when you come down with various cold symptoms like a runny nose, fever, headache and/or weakness of body.
To nurse a cold, you may need to spend a couple of days in bed. Most people tend to get over a cold by using medication. Medications provide instant relief and can be easily obtained from the local pharmacy. However, there are also several other alternate remedies that can help you recover faster than you would without medication and be up and about again.

Homeopathy is a system of medicinal treatment founded by Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician. He published a paper in 1796 in which he promulgated his principle that "likes are cured by likes". This principle is known as "Law of Similars". Hahnemann claimed that quinine, a medicine widely used for successful treatment of malaria, produced symptoms of malaria in a healthy person. The patients of malaria were treated with a medicine which created the same symptoms as those created by the disease. The observations with quinine and other medicines led Hahnemann to his "Law of Similars".

When it comes to finding an empowerment definition, there seems to be quite a bit of controversy about how to define it.
According to thefreedictionary.com., empowerment came to be known as "to invest with authority, authorize" at some point in the mid-1600's.
I find that my idea of an empowerment definition is one that leans more toward personal growth and development. To me, the definition of empowerment starts with a thought process where you first of all feel very secure in yourself.

I've been invited to a close friend's wedding. Anne is finally getting married next month. I received her invitation card just yesterday in a hen party that was organised in her honour. Her invite says to wear formal wear. That will mean appearing in a lovely nice gown. A good chance to dress up, she said. All the rest of my ex-classmates agreed to do so.
However, I immediately recognised that I would have a problem with wearing any gown or anything nice. For the last 3 months, I've been having eczema marks on my shoulders, arms, back and legs. My attire these days comprise of a T-shirt, long jeans or pants and sometimes, even sweaters.
The agony just thinking about what to wear for an evening event. No bustier? No spaghetti strapped gown? I want to look nice! How?

You may think that the ideal cleaning for gallstones is gallbladder cleansing. However, there are reasons why liver cleansing is the more ideal method to take for removal of gallstones.
A very important function of liver is the bile production. Bile is transported from the liver to the common bile duct through a series of tubes. The common bile duct is attached to the gallbladder, which stores the bile. The gallbladder releases bile for the digestion of fats. Gallstones can therefore be present in the tubes in liver, common bile duct and in gallbladder.

How To Prevent Your Eczema Worsening From Bacterial Infections
Posted on Sep 10, 2006 at 08:09 PM by Evelyn Lim
| Comments (0)
Although eczema is not contagious or infectious, when you itch and scratch yourself, you can get a secondary infection from bacteria. Dry skin can cause eczema symptoms to become worse and increased permeability of the skin means that it is easy for it to be invaded by a viral or bacterial infection. This essentially means that you can be locked in a vicious cycle of itching and scratching yourself every night.
Other than bacterial infections like staphylococcal and streptococcal infections, secondary infections may also extend to herpes simplex, viral molluscum, and warts. Additionally, there are other skin problems that can result from a worsening eczema. These include crusting or scaling of the skin, cheilitis (inflammation around the lip area), papules (small, raised, rough bumps on the skin), and darkened eyelids.

Struggling with ADD?

Hello, all!
I wanted to pop by and just make you aware of a great resource for those of you with ADD, or for those of you with family members with ADD.
Last year at about this time I "accidentally" discovered that I have ADD. Here's what happened:
I discovered I was ADD by watching this movie http://theattentionmovie.com/
After I watched the movie (and read the blurb at the end) I thought, "Oh my goodness, this is me!" I then went to her site and took the test - I have 22 of the 26 things listed, and they all fall into the "Persistent, pervasive, prohibiting" categories. I was completely floored. The more I researched this, the more I recognize myself and my family.
This came as a complete shock, and I've spent the past year looking into it, doing research about how to deal with it, and learning to manage it with grace and success.
The more I researched, the more I discovered that not only do I have ADD, but so does my husband and so do both of my kids (with my daughter, I think we're looking at ADHD!) We're not really what you think about when you think of a person with ADD - we're not hyper, we don't have problems in school, there aren't serious behavioural issues, etc., which makes it hard to diagnose, but we are most definitely in that camp, and it does affect the way we live in a number of areas. It's been quite an adventure.

Constipation has fast become a common complaint among many Americans. In fact, annually, an average 4 million Americans say that they experience constipation. Constipation is triggered by insufficient water and fiber intake.
Constipation is the irregular movement of bowels. When one experiences constipation, stools are hard and this leads to difficulty in passing them.
The normal bowel movement of a healthy adult varies between 3 and 21 times a week. A healthy adult should pass at least one bowel movement a day. Less than three bowel movements is medically a condition of constipation and less than one bowel movement in a week is acute constipation.

It is summertime and you ought to be enjoying the sunny weather and all. Yet, for some of you who are having eczema, summer is not exactly a great time to go through.
Eczema during summer can get worse than normal because of the heat and humidity. From Cell To Self In the Biology Of Belief

What is the connection between a cell membrane and the human brain? A lot, according to cell biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton, whose book, The Biology of Belief, details reasons why we can be the creators of our own destiny. A renowned cell biologist and former professor at the University Of Wisconsin Medical School, Bruce Lipton shows precisely how the molecular processes behind the brain’s functioning work. In fact, he is the leading authority on the new science of Epigenetics—the science that sees life to be controlled by factors other than genes. From cells to self, Bruce Lipton compels us to re-think our understanding of empowerment—how much power do we have over our own bodies and over the course of events in our lives? Simply put, he suggests that we are not victims of our genetic blueprint; in fact we have the power to program our own destiny.

The New Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

We are bombarded on all fronts with new anti-wrinkle treatments and new sophisticated skin regimen that are supposed to take years off the face—microdermabrasion, botox injections, face lifts and laser resurfacing. More than ever, we are harnessing the powers of technology to create a Brave New World of ageless boomers. And while I have no objections to wanting to look young (who doesn’t), I do think that being young is more a state of mind than a state of “looks.” Looks can be artificially manipulated; a state of mind can only be cultivated.
Even the word “cultivation” suggests that the process of staying young takes time. And time is something our society seems intent on making dispensable. Yet the best things in life take time. Think of your children through the lenses of the family album; it is the changes tabulated in those pictures that make them so rich in character and experience now. Time deepens the experience; time ages the moment by filling it with layers made accessible through memories. Without time, we are like ants—filled only with a pale and surface instant. Living the moment is a call for cultivating the layers of time within the moment.
And so with the face....

Stressed? Have a Talk with Your Body

Ilana Rubenfeld Ph.D knows first hand what having a conversation with your body means. A gifted violinist at the Julliard School of Music, Rubenfeld was well on her way to become the first woman conductor in the music scene when a debilitating back spasm cut short her music career. It was at that point that Rubenfeld turned to the resources of her body and transformed trauma into triumph by embarking on a personal mission to look for answers in the body’s wisdom. The result is The Listening Hand: The Rubenfeld Synergy Method of Talk and Touch which made her a world-recognized pioneer in integrating psychotherapy, body work and intuition. “You can learn to develop ‘listening hands’ in order to ‘hear’ changes in the body," she says. Talking with your body is the first step towards healing and integration.

If you suffer from eczema, you will find that stress can worsen your skin condition. The natural response in you is to scratch when you are under stress. You itch badly when you feel pressurized or unable to cope with the situation at hand.
Yet it is impossible to avoid stress. Not all stress is bad. Some level of stress can help push you to stretch yourself in terms of what you can achieve. However, too much stress can cause a mental disruption and can cause health problems such as increased heart rate, a rise in blood pressure, muscular tension, irritability, and depression.

How to Determine if You Have Eczema Skin Symptoms
Posted on Aug 13, 2006 at 08:59 PM by Evelyn Lim

Eczema skin symptoms show an inflammation of the skin which is usually accompanied by intense itching and possible infection. The itchy skin symptom of eczema is the major condition of atopic dermatitis. An eczema sufferer finds it difficult to stop scratching due to the itchy skin. Scratching causes redness, bleeding, swelling, cracking and eventually to crusting and scaling.
Eczema skin symptoms may clear up for a period and then resurfaced again. This is largely because eczema has not been cured or is curable in the first place. Children who have eczema from young may find that they have sensitive skins that are prone to outbreaks of eczema every now and then througout their lives.

It is an excellent idea to maintain a detailed food diary recording down what you ate and at what times. This should help you in a systematic approach in determining what your food triggers are and hence aid in eczema prevention.
Certain foods can be a trigger for an eczema flare-up. As not all triggers are the same for everyone, you will need to determine what your food triggers are. This can only be learned through a simple process of trial and error. Maintaining a food diary helps you keep track of all the changes that you are making to your diet. You will need to be observant about your skin reactions after consuming a food. If you eat something and eczema happens so after, note it down and then do not eat it again.

Benefits of Eating Papaya for Constipation

Many of us suffer from constipation due to inadequate fiber and water in our diet. We simply do not eat enough fruits and vegetables to help in easier bowel movements.
Constipation, put simply is a condition whereby the fecal matter traveling through your colon remains too long in your colon before traveling out of the rectum. You become aware that you are constipated if you have difficulty passing motion or take a few days to do one purge. Constipation can cause severe problems as that means that waste is accumulated in your body rather than being eliminated.

The flare-up in eczema had started as early as late January this year (2006). I ate some squids and prawns over the festive Chinese New Year for two days. I had thrown caution to the wind and given in to my temptation. That proved to be a grave mistake! The seafood triggered off reactions that I had difficulty in stopping.
I have always been prone to eczema since young. I identified my two triggers to be diet and stress. I am allergic to seafood but only realised this after many years. Poor nutrition and bad dietary habits may also have excerbated my problems.

What is Kidney Cleansing
Posted on Jul 27, 2006 at 07:37 PM by Sandra Kim Leong
| Comments (1)
Kidney cleansing is a process used to flush out toxins and wastes in kidney tissues. It is also an important procedure in dissolving the highly harmful kidney stones. Through kidney cleansing, all the ill effects caused by the malfunctioning of the urinary system are cleared and the kidneys regain their normal functional ability. The cleansing also helps in getting rid of urinary tract infections. But the most important role of kidney cleansing is in removing kidney stones.
Kidney stones are solid crystals found in the kidneys and ureters. They are the result of the dissolved minerals in urine and normally leave the body in the urine stream. The crystals in urine are the result of various salts, which get precipitated. Occasionally, the salts get deposited on the inner surfaces of the kidneys. Prolonged deposition of the crystals gives rise to stones of varying sizes. The salts, which normally pass out as solution, get accumulated when there is high concentration of the salts. Improper functioning of the urinary system can also give rise to kidney stones. The accumulation of kidney stones can be avoided to a greater extent through kidney cleansing.

Botox for Migraines

It seemed that those that took botox injections reported that they experienced a drop in the severity of their migraines. So how does botox for migraines really work?
Botox (botulinum toxin) is a neurotoxin injection. Neurotoxins are the toxin that attacks the nerve cells. Botox is the sterile and vacuum-dried form of the botulinum toxin type A. It is usually produced from the Hall strain of Clostridium botulinum. Botox can be used in conditions where the hyperactivity of muscles causes the health and medical related problems.

Is your child suffering from migraine? Does he or she complain of severe head pains? It is important to check your child’s condition instead of dismissing it as an excuse for attention or not attending school.
This condition heralds much importance because often the symptoms of child migraine are mistaken for other diseases or conditions. For example, in younger children, a migraine attack is often accompanied by nausea, visual disturbance, and apparent abdominal disturbances/pain, which is both difficult to diagnose and mostly misleading.

Can Your Migraine-related Symptoms Be Actually Glaucoma?

Sometimes, it is easy to confuse glaucoma for a simple case of migraine with aura (or known as "classic migraine"). After all, they share similiar symptoms. If you suffer from glaucoma, you may experience a fogging of vision or see colored halos around objects. This is much like those experienced by migraineurs who experience "aura" before an impending headache.
However, it is important to distinguish the two. Glaucoma is an underlying health condition that causes the headaches. These type of headaches are "secondary headaches" and indicative of a far more serious disease or illness as compared to just "primary headaches". Migraines, cluster and tension type headaches are examples of "primary headaches". While their intensities can also be severe, they are not considered as debilitating.

This does not help the migraine sufferer as more stress can bring on more headache pains. A visious cycle indeed.

First, let me first describe the symptoms and characteristics of a migraine headache. Migraine headaches seem to follow a general pattern – from prodrome to postdrome. In most cases, the patient may experience a throbbing pain in any one side of the head (sometimes it spreads to both sides as well), and the condition is usually accompanied by nausea or sometimes vomiting. A small percentage of migraine sufferers also experience “aura” – zigzag lines, halos or blurred vision – hours before an impending attack.

Finding a Good Athetoid Cerebral Palsy Attorney

Cerebral palsy is a broad term. Three types of diseases fall under this term. If we classify the word, cerebral means ‘Brain’ and palsy means a physical disorder like uncontrolled movement. Athetiod cerebral palsy is one such form, which is associated with uncontrolled or involuntary movement. Athetoid cerebral palsy is caused by damage to certain parts of the brain, such as, the cerebellum or the basal Ganglia.
Since these parts of the brain, which maintain the coordinated movement of the body parts, Athetoid Cerebral Palsy patients are characterized by slow uncontrolled writhing movements. In most cases they affect the hands, legs and feet, or in some cases muscles of the face and the tongue as well. These movements are elevated during times of stress and disappear totally during sleep. The muscle condition of such patients is weak and hence they have difficulty in walking and grasping on to objects.

Try Juice Fasting as Your Detox Diet

When there is an overload in toxins, the organs that are involved in the elimination of waste and toxins ends up being stressed. That is when we start to experience symptoms such as chronic headaches, skin allergies, premature ageing, etc. These symptoms are indicative of our ailing organs.
There are many ways that you can eliminate toxins from your body. One is by colon cleansing and another is through a detox diet. Juice fasting is a method of detoxification via diet. Many studies have shown the beneficial effects of juice fasting: treat bio chemical imbalances, reduce our cholesterol levels, treat allergies, acne, weight loss, etc.

Usually when we think of alternative medicine or therapies, we conjure images of some out-of-the-ordinary practices. Of course, alternative medicine and therapies can range to the more “unconventional” ones like hypnotherapy, past life regression, energy healing, etc. But mostly, they are not.
Here comes some surprising statistics. The World Health Organization estimates that between 65 and 80 percent of the world’s population (about 3 billion people) rely on traditional (read: “alternative”) medicine as their primary form of health care. It further states that when these traditional medical treatments are introduced into Western culture, they are seen as complementary or alternative.

Prevent Colon Cancer Through Colon Cleansing
By Sandra Kim Leong
The colon fulfills very important functions in our bodies. The colon's job is to retain water and nutrients into our bodies and help us eliminate waste. American diets are low in fiber and in fact, many do not drink enough water. Good sources of fiber is found in vegetables and fruits.
The low level of fiber prevents the colon from cleaning itself. This results in a buildup of toxic matter in the colon. The buildup of toxic matter in the colon can lead to many health problems, the most serious of which is colon cancer. A toxic body also means a weakened immune system and the body's inability to fight disease and illness.

If you have no lack of effort and you continue to try new things no matter how many times you fall down, you’ll eventually realize your goals and dreams.
You actually learn what your strengths and weaknesses are when you make attempts at growing and learning. You find out what you like to do and what you don’t like to do.
After awhile, you begin to gravitate toward areas where you have skills, and that’s where “success” begins to take shape for you.

Colon hydrotherapy is a treatment in which you clean out your colon and wash away the waste. The colon is part of your digestive tract. It gets easily blocked by waste, especially in those who have or have had a poor diet or gastrointestinal problems like constipation.

Natural Detox Using Herbs
by Sandra Kim Leong
Many are embracing the idea of detox and cleansing. It is believed that an overload of toxins in our bodies results in a sluggishness in the performance of our body organs. When our body organs are not functioning properly, our immune system breaks down and disease and illness strike. By detoxifying, waste and toxins get flushed out of our bodies. Our organs, especially those that are involved in the process of waste elimination, such as the liver, kidney, skin and colon are rejuvenated and can then work optimally again.
It is possible to detox through the use of herbs. In fact, it is believed that herbs are better than synthetic substances as the former have little side effects. The following list explains some western herbs commonly used for detoxification and why they work.

Top 5 Sure-Fire Ways to Fight Cellulite
By Evelyn Lim
Cellulite – the “c” word that women dreads. Cellulite is otherwise known as “cottage cheese”, “orange peel” due to its dimpled appearance on the skin. Despite sleeping well, eating right and getting plenty of exercise, women can still be plagued with unsightly cellulite.
It is believed that nearly 95% of all women have some degree of cellulite. Researchers say that hormones cause cellulite. Thus, it is not the direct result of being overweight, but the effect that hormones are having on the layer of fat under the skin. This explains why thin people can still get some degree of cellulite. Cellulite appears often after pregnancy, (or being on birth control pills) when the system is flooded with estrogen, or after a traumatic experience. It can also be the case of a toxin overload due to an unhealthy diet of processed foods and not enough water intake.

Abundance comes from learning to accept things you can't change as they are, improving the things you can change, and learning to give more of yourself to others.

Have You Been Turned Down for a Credit Card Lately?

Credit Cards are a bit like a plague — once everyone around you has one, you know darn well you've got to have one too! They've become a bit of a fad and even a status symbol. My brother-in-law is a good example. He takes great pleasure in pulling out his wallet whenever we all go out for dinner and wading his way through the dozen or so credit cards at his fingertips trying to decide which one to use. He's got Gold Credit Cards, Platinum Credit Cards, Air Miles Cards etc. from every possible bank and trust company in the country. One could easily develop a bad case of "credit card envy" just hanging around the guy. Unfortunately (or fortunately, according to a lot of people), not everyone has as strong a credit history as John, and so getting a credit card is not necessarily "in the cards" one might say.

Do Your Emotions Control Your Inner Peace?

Some people are very emotional, and other people . . . not so much. Those people who are very emotional tend to allow their feelings to take over and control their thoughts. Since our emotions prepare our body for some kind of action, when they are triggered, the trigger hitting the inner source is either negative or positive. When the emotions are highly tuned, they tend to create inner chaos when stimulated. Therefore, it's likely that the person who is able keep their emotions from getting out of control will have a greater sense of inner peace.

In addition, 15 of every 1000 people under the age of 18 have a hearing loss, and nearly 90% of people over age 80 have a hearing impairment. The incidence of hearing loss is greater in men, than women. The sad part is, that hearing loss is the most preventable disability in the world.

Innovations in Hair Transplant and Other Alternatives to Hair Loss

Although many people do not have visible hair loss, hair loss is a natural daily occurrence. Approximately 50 to 150 hairs are lost each day, but most hair regenerates because the hair follicle remains intact. If the follicles shrink due to heredity, hormones, stress, infection, certain prescription medication, illness, nutritional deficiency or age, the hair is not restored. When shedding significantly surpasses hair growth, baldness occurs. This Male Pattern Baldness usually begins at the forehead or on the top of the head, and progresses to the familiar horseshoe-shaped fringe of hair. Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available.

Once you are in front of your meal, make it a habit to pray, and offer your prayers to the nature and your ‘Favourite God’ for providing you with the meal. Approach each item with reverence and love. Consume your food even if you dont like it with respect for the sacrifice it is making for you and it would carry a harmonising power all over inside you.

Is A Happy Marriage Possible These Days?

Statistics show that about 50% of all marriages fail and many of those don’t even make it through the first year. Not a pretty picture, especially when you consider that getting married is as popular as ever. Which means that having a successful marriage has now become a 50/50 proposition. I suppose these odds are reasonable enough to push on, but I think more marriages would be successful if couples took the time before the big day to really understand what adjustments need be made if they want to be together "until death do us part".

Waking Up Early - Why is it so hard?

Recently I've been doing a lot of research about how to wake up early in the morning. The reason I'm currently fascinated with sleep and waking up is that I've been having a hard time waking up myself. There are many reasons why I'm finding it harder to wake up, and the most important one is that it's winter and there is no sunshine when I wake up. I must mention that I'm waking up at 7:30AM, so it's weird not having the sun greet me in the morning.

Happiness Is ...

Do you remember the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin? With it's catchy melody and silly video, the song captures the essence of what it takes to be happy no matter what situation you find yourself in. In fact, as the song points out, in life we may have troubles, but if you worry, you'll soon discover that it doubles.
Good advice.

Exercise Can Be Fun ... Or Not

I'm one of those sedentary people who would rather spend 12 hours working on my computer then 2 hours of doing physical exercise. Since I work from home, it's a real challenge to break myself away and get out and do something that will make me sweat. I've slowly learned to do it, but it's not easy and for me, it will never be something I enjoy as much as writing a good article or designing a new logo for one of my clients. However, over the years I've learned how important exercise really is for a healthy life.

I'm sure everybody is familiar with the old saying, "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow" . . . oops, wait a second. Did I get that right? Sorry.

Most of us are victims, from time to time, of an all encompising anxiety that makes it difficult to think straight and can even cause long term effects if left unchecked. Some anxiety comes from day to day worries about being late for work, getting the kids off to school on time, wondering if you'll get the promotion you're counting on, as wells as concerns about making enough money to pay your bills with the skyrocketing costs of basic essentials and so on.

I've read a lot of Self-Help books because, hey, let's face it, I always need help. A couple that had a strong impression on me were "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and "The Peter Principle." The title "7 Habits" speaks for itself, however, for those who don't know what the Peter Principle is, it basically states that everyone eventually rises to their level of incompetence in life.
