Do you know somebody who eats at least two painkillers per day? Or is that person you? Reliance on pain killers is extremely dangerous, and the physical needs for painkillers are especially worrying if your dependency is through a psychological cause rather than a genuine medical need.

It has been proven by numerous medical tests that pain killers, especially Paracetamol, are consumed by many people almost daily without thought to relieve aches and pains that ultimately are not even there. What there is actually is a psychological problem within the mind that convinces the user that they are in some dire need medicinal aids to fix problems.

I suffer from the occasional headache, or general pains in my body from the fatigue of daily life, but I never take pain killers, rather, I understand that my body needs regular food intake, plenty of water, and a certain amount of rest and relaxation in relation to the daily strain I exercise on it. However, there are large quantities of people who simply see pain killers as the only solution to the general pain and strain of daily life, and the worry here is that the longer period of time people live their lives with this delusion, the stronger psychological dependency sets in, and the harder it will be to break this cycle. Equally, over the longer term, it is very easy for the user to become immune to the effects of the drugs, and start to use bigger doses each time they feel their body ‘needs’ repair.

The same medical experiment has been conducted numerous times, the world over, whereby two groups, one eating pain killers, and the other eating sweets that look like pain killers, both agree that the medicine prescribed helped to relieve the pains, and we should all be aware of this trap that exists.

We should not forget that there are people, who do need daily pain killers and other prescribed and stronger drugs for the sake of their health and overall well being, but for the rest of us who do not need them as a fixed and daily routine intake, we should be aware of the trap, and avoid falling into dependencies.

Be safe; be balanced in your life.
