Acne Prevention Tip#1: Good Skin Care
If you have got severe acne, you need to wash your face with a mild cleanser. Wash your face two or at the very most, three times a day. Washing your face many times a day can strip your face of its essential skin oils. Your sebaceous glands are stimulated to create more skin oil and this can result in acne.
Also do not scrub or scrape your skin as you do not want to damage your skin and scrub away the natural skin oils. Use a soft sponge instead of a rough wash cloth.
Acne Prevention Tip #2: Water Cure
Water is the main carrier of nutrients throughout your body. It can significantly help in the healing of and preventing acne flare-ups.
Toxins build up in your body through the unhealthy food that you consume and pollution that you are exposed to. However, when this happens, health problems such as acne show up. The human body has four outlets whenever there is a buildup of toxins and wastes: the bowels, the kidneys, the lungs, and the skin. Your bowels and kidneys are your body's primary outlets for this toxic buildup. If these two primary outlets are not functioning well due to a toxic overload, your lungs and skin are roped in to help in the detoxification process. Toxic symptoms such as acne start to manifest on your skin.
Hence, to keep your bowels and kidneys working, it is important to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to help flush out waste.
Acne Prevention Tip #3: Healthy Diet and Nutrition
Even though medical science has not shown a direct link between acne and diet, natural health experts believe otherwise. There are also many reports from individual acne sufferers that certain drinks or foods, such as dairy products, eggs and nuts can trigger skin problems. These foods tend to worsen their acne. So if you suspect that what you are eating may cause you to have acne breakouts, then you should try to eliminate these foods from your diet.
Your skin, just like every other organ in your body, requires proper nutrition to function properly. If you have acne prone skin, then you should consider supplementing your diet with certain vitamins that have been shown to be good for healthy skin.
Some of these vitamins are powerful antioxidants that effectively flush toxins out of your body while others have antibacterial effects. These types of vitamins are vital for keeping your pores open and healing any damaged skin tissue.
Vitamin A: Vitamin A reduces sebum production and also works as an antioxidant that helps your body get rid of toxins.
Vitamin B Complex: B vitamins not only helps to keep your skin looking healthy but also has a positive effect on the anxiety and stress, often linked to acne breakouts. The vitamins in the B vitamin family include Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine and Cyanocobalamin. Each one of these B vitamins has a role to play in keeping your skin and body healthy.
Vitamin C with bioflavonoids: Vitamin C is an excellent supplement if you want good skin. Vitamin C works as an antioxidant and the bioflavanoids work as antibacterial agents.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is another antioxidant that aids in the healing of skin tissue and hence is good for the repair of your acne skin.
Zinc: Zinc helps your skin tissue heal, helps prevent scarring caused by deep blemishes and also has antioxident properties.
