Folklore Review: A Magical Adventure

Posted on Oct 16, 2007 at 11:18 PM by Sayed T Islam | Comments (0)

Folklore is a PlayStation 3 exclusive video game that will probably get lost due to the Orange Box madness, but I will try to shed some light on the game. The game is developed by Sony and published by Game Republic. Judging by the title of the game, it is fairly obvious that Folklore is a role playing game. The storyline in the game transpires in Doolin, and Doolin is a village in Ireland. Mysticism and the supernatural beings are a few of many things that haunt this village.

Buying an Xbox 360 Online - A Shopper's Perspective

Posted on Oct 11, 2007 at 06:55 PM by Rob Bernabe

I've been a gamer for well over twenty years now, and a web user for around ten, so naturally, when I decided the time had come for a new games console, one of the first places I looked in order to find a bargain was the web. I do a lot of shopping on the web, but the thing about buying an Xbox 360 online is it's quite an expensive piece of equipment, so you want to be sure you're getting the best price, from a reputable vendor.

I checked out some price comparison sites, following a friend's recommendation. I think I would question the independence of some of them though. I know from past experience of buying games consoles that certain reputable vendors can generally be relied upon to give you a good deal.

Preorder Rock Band for Christmas

Posted on Oct 9, 2007 at 06:05 PM by Rob Bernabe

If you are looking for the ideal gift for somebody who is both a musician and an avid Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 console game player then we have the perfect solution for you. Coming out onto the shelves just before Christmas this year is the video game "Rock Band", which allows players to form virtual rock groups of their own.

What differentiates this title from other games, is that each player participates in the game using custom controllers that are based on real world musical instruments. The first controller is a drum set which consists of four foam pads, a bass drum pedal and real drumsticks. Each foam pad represents one of four different instruments that a drummer would typically have. These include the snare drum, the tom-tom, hi-hat and cymbals.

Internet Reporting Shenanigans

Microsoft will give you a pizza free pizza to host a party.

Posted on Jul 22, 2006 at 03:44 PM by Joe Fave | Comments (1)

A major part of the Xbox 360 is the ability to have an always on connection to the Xbox live network. While on Xbox live Microsoft has implemented a marketplace to get demos for new games and fully playable versions of older video games. Currently they have full versions of arcade classics like Joust, Frogger and Tetris like game that was programmed by the man who invented Tetris ( he works for Microsoft now by the way). Unfortunately adding content to these areas has been almost non existent. But that has all changed. Microsoft will now be holding what they call “Xbox live Wednesday”. Every Wednesday Microsoft has pledged to add a new game to the arcade and more of other content also.

Transformers game is coming

The Transformers has been one of the most favorite toys and cartoon for decades. In July 2007 action film directory Michael Bay (the director of films like Armageddon, the Rock and Bad Boys) will bring The Transformers to the big screen. But this will not be like the 1987 cartoon movie, this will be all live action with CGI Transformers. In addition to the movie Hasbro (the toy manufacture that created The Transformers) will be releasing video games based on the movie and toys.

Find Your XBox Crashing After 20 Minutes?

Posted on Dec 7, 2005 at 06:57 AM by Paul Ackerley | Comments (6)

I've heard a few reports of this so I thought I'd look into it. Apparently it isn't the new XBox 360 that's overheating, it's a batch of dodgy PSU's. I've read of a few ways to overcome this, ranging from suspending it in the air with rope, to the daftest one - putting the red hot block on a cardboard box and hoping it won't catch fire. Personally I'd rest it on a upturned colandar, but that's not the point. If it's faulty, take it back - availability issues aside.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 - Leaders

Posted on Nov 28, 2005 at 12:51 PM by Sean G Wilson | Comments (2)

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was released on the same day as Episode III. This new installment of the popular series has several new features of game play. There are also some remakes of battle maps from the first Battlefront with updated graphics.

One of the newest and perhaps most popular feature is the inclusion of controllable Jedi and other leaders. Now you can play as Yoda, Luke Skywalker, or even Darth Vader and the Emperor. Each uses a light saber as their primary weapon, but they have different secondary powers. For most Force users, they throw their light saber for a ranged attack. But others have different ranged attacks. The Emperor shoots lightning from his fingers, and Yoda has a Force telekinesis attack that sends enemies flying.
