Why do you love the holidays?

Why do you love the holidays?

In the case of teenagers it's always interesting to notice the trends about which holidays are the most enjoyed. So my question is, which holidays are the best between all the holidays? I'm sure the answers vary from person to person but I'm going to attempt to quantify each of the best things about the different holidays that exist.

First of all, everyone loves holidays because they get to take some time off from work or school and just kick back and relax. It's called a holiday for a reason: you get to relax and enjoy your time for yourself. This is a very powerful motivator for most people since time is the new money: more time is more important than earning money these days.

The next big thing that makes holidays special is the idea of traditions or childhood memories. If you spent a lot of enjoyable time in your past celebrating this holiday you will always look fondly onto the future of such a holiday. The same is true if you make good memories in the present, you will enjoy the holiday even more and look forward to it again more in the following years.

It is also a good motivator to spend lots of time with your family. That is one of the best motivators for most adults, but some teenagers might be resistant to the idea of spending so much time with a bunch of old people. But on the other hand, teenagers like to meet with cousins of their own age in order to share ideas and gossip without necessarily having the same pressures as it would be during school.

Finally, it's important to note that every holiday is different whether it's Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Independence Day and so on. But that doesn't mean that there are any superior holidays, it just means that everyone else has different memories and experiences from past holiday celebrations.
