So you're finally free from school for a few weeks, but what are you going to do with all of this free time on your hands? Being a teenager you might not have access to different means of transportation such as a car, or a bike and this makes traveling harder. Of course if you do have a bike, it might be too snowy to bike anywhere. So what can you do by yourself at home during your christmas break? Let's look at your options.
First of all you should spend the days that your parents are not working doing something with your parents. Why? Because you will sorely miss your parents once you move out and what you might take for granted now will become precious to you later. So take the advice of a girl who spent most of her time on her computer instead of talking about life with her parents. What can you do with your parents that will keep both of you entertained? You could go watch a movie, rent a movie or watch television. But I'm sure you can do all of those things any day. So why not do something exciting and different like go skating, skiing, snowboarding, sledding or other fun winter activities.
If there is no snow where you live, don't worry. You can still go outside and enjoy the season together. Think about cooking some fun treats with your parents. You could make your own chocolate with your parents, make some christmas cookies or other tasty treats. If you can also manage to make a trip to visit your grand parents on one of your days off, they will be infintely happy to see you. They most likely are not working during the day and can probably pick you up from home and spend the day with you. The stories they will tell you about your parents' youth will be priceless!
Alright, so you've spent some time with your family. But what do you do when that's not possible anymore? You have a lot of choices. You should think about the goals you'll be making when you make a New Year's resolution. Will you try to get into better shape during 2006? If so, then start right away! You can find tons of great tips for weight loss online. You don't need to wait until January first before you start making changes in your life to make it better. Maybe you want to surprise your parents and bake them a meal. Go for it, and make sure you're safe with the kitchen utensils and tools.
If you're looking for other fun things, try to get outside and do all of those fun winter activities like skiing, skating, snowboarding and sledding. If you live in an area with hills you might not need to go anywhere to sled! You could also curl up by the fire with a good book, possibly one that you received from your parents for christmas. So make sure to tell your parents which books you'd like to read.
Try to make something with your hands. This is something that you'll be very proud of and can look fondly on in the future. Draw something, write a short story, make a christmas craft. Go wild with your imagination. You'll enjoy this part of your break the most!
