Let’s protect our children

We all followed the case of the family in Idaho. The family was murdered by a convicted child sexual predator so he could take the small children. One of the children was later killed. The other was abused over the course of many weeks. We all watched and were horrified as the details came out.

There have been other cases this was by far the worst. It happens too often. These sexual predators can not be rehabilitated. They can not be near children. They stalk kids and their families and plan their crimes. It is chilling to hear or read how much planning they go to trick a child or a family into trusting them.

We can not allow this to happen any more! In the case of the Idaho family the “accused” had a 25 year history and yet was free to walk the streets and stalk our children. Too many times these men get a short sentence and are free to do this again.

We need tougher laws. We need better laws. We owe it to ourselves and our children to stop this.

Contact your local victims groups, contact your congressman, contact anybody you can and lets’ do something.

Contact your local law enforcement and know where the predators live in your neighborhood. Don’t think they live in your neighborhood? You better think again. I live in a nice suburb and we have 2 in my neighborhood alone. There are 4 in the neighborhood across a highway and 5 just down the road in another neighborhood. A friend who lives in a neighborhood where the house prices run $500,000 to 1 million has 4 and it’s a small neighborhood.

They are out there and they live near all of us. We can’t let another child get hurt. Please get involved. If you have ideas or places to get involved reply to this post.

Robin I believe the more we attempt to make society aware of this evil the more ammunition that we have. What is also so sad is how these offenders get off so easily within our judicial system. So many refuse therapy and then get released early. We need stricter laws. If they were not on the street to begin with issues such as what you posted would not have happened.

In some cases when victims come forward it is too late to prosecute due to that states statute of limitations. Reading stories such as this rips me apart from the inside out. Our children must be protected. Our children must be vindicated by stricter laws and harsher punishments. Sometimes I feel like my work is so futile but I refuse to quit fighting.

If we do not protect our children who will? Parents must begin to speak out and unite to change things in our children’s favor.
