Christmas is a time of year where we get together with family and friends and celebrate the season. We remember the years gone by and we enjoy some tasty food together. But what happens when the your christmas party activity list gets short and repetitive? Do you start to dread going to a family christmas party? What about an office christmas party? Well don't fret, because with these great christmas party ideas you'll be on your way to fun with the family and friends!
First of all you will need to decide what kind of a christmas party you will be throwing. If you're looking for office christmas party ideas, then you can chose activities that will please your coworkers more than those that would please your grandparents. On the other hand if you're hosting a family christmas party, try to come up with activities and games that will keep everyone entertained, from the parents to the children. Kids need to enjoy the christmas celebrations too, and that doesn't mean they have to wait until it's time to open the christmas presents!
Let's say you need to find activities for a family christmas party that will have a mix of adults, teenagers and kids. Your first goal will be to prepare the food, but I'm sure you won't have a problem with that - especially if you ask everyone to bring a dish or a desert of some sort. Make sure your house is decorated for christmas. Next you will want to break out some of the class christmas songs and have them playing throughout the party. You can have the kids play musical chair to Christmas songs. There's nothing more fun or festive than that! You could have a pin the tail on the reindeer game, just pick up an extra reindeer cardboard decoration and you're on your way to a great christmas game for kids!
For the adults you'll want to have some eggnog and drinks available at all times. Make sure that everyone who drank gets a safe ride home and take your guests' keys and ask them to sleep over if they drank. You can set up a mock dance floor in your living room and get the christmas party started. If people are too shy to dance, just make it a game and give away small stocking stuffer type prizes for the best dancers to each song. This will excite the teenagers at the party, because dancing and prizes are two things that can motivate teens. You can also have one of the men in your family dress up as Santa Claus. Make sure he's around when it's time to give the out the presents!
If your guests seem to be running out of things to do, it's time to break out the card games and board games! Not everyone needs to be playing the game at the same time and it's great to see your family members and relatives in a different light and see them just letting go and enjoying themselves in a game. Monopoly makes for a great game, but it can be lengthy so if there's only a short time before the christmas feast is served then opt for a game of Crazy eights instead.
Happy holidays and enjoy your family christmas gathering. Take advantage of the fact that everyone is able to get together and celebrate life.
