Wow, is it time for Easter already?

Well, we went to the garden center this week-end. We got our fuchsia plants and some other plants for our hanging baskets. My daughter thought it was fun to get involved and help select the plants. They were doing free potting and she watched that intently.

We brought the plants home and had her help us hang them up. We watered them together too. As we sit at the kitchen table eating breakfast every morning we can see some of them. She watches them and is looking for them to grow.

It’s pretty fun. The fuchsia plant has beautiful pink and purple flowers and that is her 2 favorite colors. Although I do believe that pink and purple are favorites of any girl under 10 years old.

At the garden center I noticed all the pretty Easter Lilies. Wow, is it time for Easter already? It seems like it was just New Year’s Day. I think we’ll go back next week and get some Easter Lilies.

I like the idea of the pre-made Easter baskets but have yet to buy one. I have a basket we use each year and I fill it up with goodies. Using the same basket each year gives that sense of tradition for us.

A chocolate bunny is a requirement of any good Easter basket in my opinion. I don’t want it to be all candy but I’ll probably add some jelly beans and Peeps. An Easter outfit is a must too. Easter dresses are so cute. I also like to add fun toys – a lot less calories than candy! And I’ll add a card. I love Easter cards. They are so pretty. I have some fun ideas to make Easter cards with the kids. I’ll have to write about that later.

Have you ever thought about the varieties of chocolate bunnies? Solid or hollow? Milk chocolate or dark chocolate? Or white chocolate?. Crispy or plain? And don’t forget peanut butter filled. It makes me hungry just to think about all the choices. I’ll have to put careful thought in to the chocolate bunny selection. My favorite is dark chocolate but I know my daughter likes milk chocolate. I’m thinking milk chocolate solid bunny for her. Yum!
