Computer Repair Tuneup Part 1

Computer Repair Tuneup Part 1

Some people find it difficult to believe that they can have a smooth running computer, in fact they might think there is no way that they could ever achieve this on their own. Extremely intelligent people will look at the PC like it is a stranger amongst them, whether it is at home or in their office. This is no longer necessary, getting high quality computer service is easy.

Having a computer tuned up by a professional can be costly but the benefits are definitely worth the results. Where do you put a value on your time? If a computer technician can come to you, increase the speed and efficiency of your computer and save you large amounts of time, then isn't that worth it?

One thing is certain, there are many parts to a computer, both hardware and software. Each and every one of these items can adversely affect the performance of your computer. Just one of these items is the RAM, which all by itself can really impact the speed and performance of your comptuer.

Random Access Memory is the definition for the acronym RAM. The reason why it is used in modern day computing is because of the Random Access feature. This allows a computer to quickly drop data into RAM for quick computations and the more of this you have the faster your PC will be.

On Microsofts website it states that the minimum amount of RAM for a pc running windows XP is 64 Megs. I can tell you right now from experience that any computer out there with only 64 Megs of RAM is in big trouble if they expect to run XP smoothly.

With the release of Service Pack 2 in conjunction with using Windows XP RAM is more important than ever. It used to be that just having 256 MEG's would be enough to keep your machine running smooth, not anymore! In order to keep things rolling along, you will now need increase your memory in order to keep things in good working order.

Hopefully at this point you have decided to add RAM to your computer! RAM is easy to locate both in stores and on your botherboard. I would disregard the MS website when it refers to the amount of RAM you really need. Just remember that when running both Windows XP and Service Pack 2 together you will need at least 512 MEG's of RAM to keep your PC running smooth.

When you do your RAM upgrade just remember it is a very easy thing to do on your own. Even the beginner computer user can do this. Afterward you will be justly rewarded with a computer that is much faster than the way it was prior to doing the upgrade. When spending money on upgrades, using the RAM upgrade option will give you the best value for your dollar.

It is also acceptable to just call up a professional and have them take care of it for you. If your looking for Dallas and Fort Worth Computer Service and Repair the just visit www.myonsitegeek.com.
