The text messaging function on the more modern, even if it is a bottom of the range phone, will be more than adequate for the average persons needs.
Don't expect to buy an inexpensive phone with an email function although the chances are you won't use it anyway. If this is a function you need to have, it will probably be worth your while reconsidering as a cheap cellular phone will not be the type you require.
From time to time, you will see really good cell phone plan deal advertised, so why not wait for one of these and get a more expensive phone as part of the package. This is a viable option as cell phone plan deals happen all the time, especially when they want to make room for the latest models. Finding a package such as this means the thought of searching for a basic phone will be a thing of the past.
It doesn't matter what you intend to purchase, the internet is a great place to research, compare and find what you are looking for plus you will usually find whatever you want within the budget you set for yourself.
