Hello everyone! I am a Headhunter/website builder/and aspiring internet marketer. "Headhunting" is what I've been doing for the past 20+ years. (Visit
Job Search 101) I've been a website builder/internet markete
If you had a chance to look at the website I purchased (which is not officially up and running quite yet), you will notice that it looks pretty good. The company that I paid $3995 to told me that this site is mine to do what I want with. I was also told that they had the technology to take this site to the top of the search engines, something everyone knows must happen to be successful.
The jury is still out. I have been receiving emails from many many dissatisfied customers of this company who have reported them to the scam sites, to the Attorney General, to the BBB. These are people who have spent upwards of $20,000 on similar types of sites and have seen no results after months of waiting and months of promises.
So, who do you believe? The company who now comes back and says that these people are wrong and they are right? Or the people who say that they have not been delivered their product as described?
I really don't know who is telling the truth at this point. I know I haven't made any money and we are going onto a year now. I know I was made promises that haven't been kept or that appear not to have been kept. But one thing that was pointed out to me was, I was way too inexperienced to even consider investing so much money into something before I had a decent amount of online experience. I was in way over my head. I was so bent on making a living on the internet that I didn't do my due diligence.
I have been convinced by the company even as late as last week to just hang in there. I had managed to get almost half of my money back through my credit card company, but was told that shouldn't have happened. I have also been told that they know I am very dissatisfied and that they are going to do everything possible to prove to me that what they told me was true.
I will have to let you know how this progresses. This is a real life story and also one that every internet "newbie" should be reading and following. It could happen to you.
I would like to encourage you not to give up if you have started something, but if you are new to the internet, please be advised that you will not get rich overnight, maybe not even for years. Maybe never. If you don't have the education you need or the tools or the marketing experience (yes, you must know how to market your website or hire someone else to do it for you) I beg you, DO NOT give anyone thousands of dollars to build you a website or provide you with training unless you have absolute first hand proof that these people have been successful and have done what they are telling you to do.
I will give you an update on this as soon as I have one. In the meantime, build a site. It's easy. Get some experience. Think about what your goals are in building an internet site. Go to the many free sources of information on line first and then consider making purchases as you feel more comfortable but NEVER NEVER shell out thousands of dollars because there is NO easy way to make your website rank on the first few pages of the search engines overnight.
Have a blessed week. Need a job? Visit my one stop career center website for some great info!
