Hamburger Helper is awarding grants every month from now until next May with the "Hometown Helper" grant program. The grants range from $500 up to $15,000 and are being given to qualified applicants who submit their applications online.

The grants can be used for anything from computers for schools, sports equipment, band trips, clean-up projects, to basically any worthwhile project which is sponsored by a municipal or civic organization or public school.

Your organization must apply online and provide the details of your proposed project. In addition, you must be able to verify your 501(c)(4) status. Awards are based upon the merit of the project, including its impact and support within your community. You can demonstrate the support of your community by asking members of your community to leave their comments on your application on the website.

The review committee will favor organizations meeting the following criteria:

1. Demonstrate a need in a community
2. Illustrate a helpful, creative or innovative concept that meets this need
3. Clearly identify change/s that can be made as a result of receiving the award

Awards are given on a montly basis but you only need to apply once during the year. I recommend visiting the website and reading the current applications and awards and then submitting your own if you have a project and are representing a 501(c)(4) organization. Visit the Hamburger Helper website at www.myhometownhelper.com for more details.
