Domain Name Generator

Using a domain name generator helps get suggested domain names that are not likely to have been used by other webmasters. Otherwise the process of registering a domain name can be quite annoying. There will be many times the domain name a webmaster hopes to register is already taken. They then need to try different domain names. They can work in three ways including: giving random listings, giving listings based on input or using human suggestions.

Domain Name Server: The Basics
Posted on Jan 28, 2009 at 07:11 AM by

Domain name servers (also known as DNS) are needed for domain names to work. These are special computers that store data pertaining to domain names and the IP addresses they point to. It does this through a process known as reverse mapping. What happens is after a domain name is entered, the domain name server will look up its corresponding IP address in a directory service. It will also correspond with other domain name services to see if they have 'knowledge' of the IP address. This process is known as a distributed database, since no 'official' entity is responsible for updating information on other domain name servers.

How To Transfer Domain Names

What are you going to do if you register with one domain name company, but decide later you want it to be operated by another company? Simple! You transfer domain names. This is when a webmaster gets another registrar to handle their domain name. All payments are forwarded to the new registrar, as the old registrar is no longer in the picture, (at least when it comes to the domain name). If the registrar is handling a webmaster's hosting, they still need to make the necessary payments to make sure their website stays in tact.

Internationalized Domain Names and Homograph Attacks

With normal spoofing a scammer tries to get personal information by sending fraudulent emails masquerading as an official website an individual might be working with. While some fall for the deception, many know better since the domain name in the email doesn't resemble the domain name they usually use to access whatever site. However, what happens if a domain name looks exactly like an official website? This is very possible with internationalized domain names.

Cheap Domain Names

Cheap domain names can range from being completely free to around $6.95. Usually free domain names that are worth anything are included with a web hosting package. This simply means that the customer is technically still paying a fee. The other types of domain names that require a fee can be purchased separately without a web hosting package. The prices for these start at $1.00 and go up from there.

Bulk Domain Name Registrations

Internet marketing experts do bulk domain name registrations when marketing their website. How do using bulk domain names help? Basically, with the bulk domain name tactic, dozens maybe even hundreds of domain names point to one site. The practice is completely legal, (since ICANN places no limitations on how many domain names a person can register), and could even boost search engine listings. This is because search engine bots have more URLs they can find that relate to a particular website.

March Corn was up 5 and one-half cents on Monday, up five and one-half cents again on Tuesday, and up by three and one-half cents today. Today's price action suggests that some of the bullishness of the past two days may be running out of steam as prices today closed well off their high for the day.

How to Get the Best Domain Name Registered
Posted on May 4, 2006 at 05:11 PM by Theodore "Ted" Jenkins
| Comments (0)
One of the biggest problems new business owners face is getting the best domain name registered. Mostly, domain names are registered after your company name, because that is the easiest thing to do. Whenever anyone is trying to search for something online, they go to a search engine. They type words or names related to the information that they are looking for. For example, if a person is looking for a language translation service, then, he will probably type ‘language translation’ or ‘translation services.’ These are the first words that will come to most people’s minds. You can also visit a website called, http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/, and enter the words that you think people might type while looking for a particular service. This website tool gives you a breakdown of the most sought- after words in descending order.
