In the corporate world, people who get hired are usually those who are not only talented but also those who pay great attention to the way they dress and groom themselves. The importance of creating a successful image, whether you are looking for a job or wanting a promotion cannot be overemphasized. As Brian Tracy said, "You tell others what you think of yourself, and you signal to others how they are to evaluate you and treat you. Since you dress yourself, you are responsible for whatever message you send."
What is power dressing? It means appropriate dressing. Dressing appropriately so that you best project the image of success in whatever you do. It means, when you go to job interviews, you wear business attire, not party dress or long gown or tuxedo. Here's some tips i gathered on creating lasting impressions through power dressing:
* Look like a winner always - everybody loves a winner.
* Strive to appear like a person with a future.
* Try to show others that you are going up the ladder.
* Influence others with your external appearance.
* Never lose your composure, even in difficult situations.
* Groom your self to be a person destined to succeed.
